Help me figure out a marketing strategy... FREE & PAID

Hi guys.

So. I'm working on a little project, that I can see having huge potential.

It's a sort of take on fiverr.... but not quite.

Anyway... I see a gap... and, I'd like to fill it.

Now, my usual marketing strategy is free traffic... mainly google with a touch of social bookmarking, web 2.0 etc...

This is all well and good. But, I'd like to really do this right.

I need an awesome FREE strategy.. I'm thinking, besides onpage and offpage SEO

1) Press Release... I've heard a lot about these, do they work? (my site's pretty news worthy)

2) Site of the day... reviews on blogs... how do I go about this?

3) Setting up a facebook page and network with relevant pages on facebook... again, this is new to me.

4) Twitter... never really been into twitter... does it really work?

PAID

Ok, so..

1) banner ads? Where... how much... I'm thinking on relevant blogs.

2) Offline flyer marketing.... I've seen some interesting flyer gigs on fiverr... and they target my demographic... might be worth a shot.

3) ppc... haven't a clue

4) Magazine advertisment.... sounds expensive.

I'd love to hear back from you warriors.... how far could I stretch say... $1k?

Any WSO's... or the like you can recommend?

Cheers

The best free strategy is to get webmasters talking about your website.

Let the people who love you spread the word about your website, and you should make it a point to ask them to do so.

All methods we use to promote via free: video marketing, article marketing, press releases, social media, is only a means to an end, with the end goal being to get "others" to get the word out for us.

So focus on those things that will encourage people to talk about you, and you will win.

I don't know if you've done this but I've used it on several occasions and has worked great Facebook adds targeted to specific groups.

Yup... been thinking about this.. for another project, but would certantly work for this.

A few questions... are fb ads expensive? Have you seen results? What's the deal with these vouchers... I see em on fiverr... I imagine you can probably find them free somewhere?

        Cheers

      Cheers Bill.

Ye, I'm always bookmarking relevant blogs... when the time is right, I'll approach them and see if they're interested in doing a feature or something.

I've no problem asking them this... as what I'm doing is pretty novel and unique... so, I know it will interest their readers.

I wonder... if I approach a webmaster... do I supply an article... or just let them write about it themselves?

        Offer them a choice.

Think about press releases. We give people a pre-written story with a phone number available if they want to write their own story. We also structure the pre-written story so that it can be segmented if the publisher wants to use only part or all of what we gave them.
