Best Way To host your podcasts?

What is the best Way to host your podcasts? I want to jump into Podcasts I have been researching and doing some learning about podcasting. I am excited to start this, I was thinking I should just host it on my blog, it will be easy and the podcasts will be in the same niche as my blog anyway. The thing is that I keep hearing podcasting takes a lot of space when hosting it yourself? Any advice on the best way to host a podcast would be great! Thank you for all your help Warrior Forum and taking the time to listen!

libsyn is hosting just for podcasts, it's so easy to use you just use it like a blog, upload your mp3 and it will automatically syndicate to iTunes for you. you then just need to show iTunes your feed URL. take a look anyway libsyn.com

Just sign up for a host that is within your budget. Then plug the site away so that you will have listeners tuning in to your updates.

I would recommend Libsyn also. If your podcast gets very many downloads (which is the goal), you don't want to host it on your website host.

It depends on the kilobits per second. For spoken audio, 24 kbps is supposed to be enough. I use 32 kbps just in case there are people with very sensitive ears. Sony Sound Forge makes it easy to adjust this. It was about $65 when I bought it, but Audacity can also do this for free.

I recently downloaded an hour of audio at 128 kbps and it was in stereo. It was just a talk, and both stereo tracks were exactly the same. It was the most inefficient way possible to produce what was actually a mono playback.

When I got rid of the extra track and reduced the kbps, the file size was less than a tenth of the original and didn't sound different.

I don't do podcasts, but do have some recordings on sites. They aren't big enough to be a problem with my server space.
