Making money on flippa

is anyone here making money with flippa? ive decided to have a go at building some quality sites and putting them on there, but after doing a bit of research i found that most of the sites on there being sold are ones offering a service such as link building etc.

now in all honesty it would be easy to make one of these sites, sell it to some one and then show them where they can purchase backlinks for their clients, my main concern is that the new owner wouldnt have a clue where to start and would they make any money at all.

some sites selling these services are going for $150-$300 a piece but i really cant see the new owner making money from them, what do you think?

if you sell on flippa do you sell these sort of sites or something different?

I agree, many sellers on flippa are just looking to take advantage of newbies. Many of these sites that have been built for one reason and one reason only to be "flipped" which is very different from a real website that is already generating revenue.

Be very careful about buying sites on flippa unless you know exactly what you are after you will find a lot of dud's.

Although it's common sense, I think it all depends on how you "sell" a site. Of course you need sites that are worth buying, but what about selling them what they could do with the site, sell the potential. Potential traffic, search volume for the niche/keywords, trends, ect.

Maybe you could even offer help after the sale, don't see many people doing that. Could give you an edge.

Ways you could be "better" than other sellers.

Does anyone know a good time and day to start an auction on Flippa? I prefer three day auctions but wondering is there is a good day/time to start the auction so that it ends with the most eyeballs. Taking into consideration different times zones. Any suggestions or thoughts?

That's a good question, the best time to start any auction online is to time it so that your target audience (in this case I'd probably go with USA) are viewing the end of your auction on Fri - Sat - or Sunday Night at around 9pm.

This is when people are most likely able to be online. When I worked with auctions I found Sunday nights were probably the best and go with 7 day if you can.

      Hope this helps!

If you decide to feature your site so as to get more eyeballs on it, wait till you've got some responses/comments (social proof). If you have it featured and people come and see that no one else's commenting, they may think you don't have a site worth purchasing.

If your website is doing well online, like making $500 to $600 a month, you should keep the site and start expanding the monthly income to $1,000 to $5,000 a month.

Do the same thing getting the income, untel you reach an $10,000 to $20,000.

Then advertise is on cragslist.com or backpage.com 'list it under business investment" or "business investment" and a good price to start is $150,000.00 then add OTO (other better to offer).

I am listing a site on flippa but the auction haven't closed. These are my research on flippa:

    1. The buyers will pay high if the site sold is stable and already making money.
    2. The value of your website is 10-20 times of the website's monthly earnings.
    3. If your site isn't making money yet, the site must has potential niche, market and visitors and make sure your website's design is unique and beautiful (if it's not making money yet).
    4. Create a good sales copy. Explain the expenses, why you're selling it, the earnings, etc.
