Should I host articles on my domain - or just blog them?

I'm looking to become more active in using articles to rank in SERPS.

My thinking was to add them as new pages to my site. Of course, they wouldn't be linked to from my navigation menu - I'd just host them on my domain.

That way, people would see my site header (it has a call to action in it) while viewing the artlce.

Or, should I just blog them?

Not sure what Google prefers, in terms of creating new and fresh content?

Site is WordPress, by the way.

I've done quite allot of all 3 - posting as a static page on WP, posting as a blog post and hosting as html page on another part of my site.

In my experience posting as a blog has advantages in terms of RSS syndication and seems to get ranked better by SERPS, though it still does require some strategic back linking to help them along.

Those are your own articles? or other authors content?

In first case I'd go with blog option and post the content on blog.

If it is the second case, unless I am maintaining an article directory I wouldn't post them on my site.

If they're yours they go on your site, end of discussion. After they are indexed they can go to article directories or whatever else you want to do with them.

Why in the world would you want your original content on a blog hosted by someone who could take it down tomorrow for no reason.

Add to that it means they have to read the article and click thru to get to your site, where I'm assuming you want them to end up.
