Google Webmaster Tools Question

I'm trying to set up my first affiliate campaign and am working with WordPress on my own hosting. All of this is new to me.

I installed XML Site Generator and I think it is active.

But how do I verify my site with Google Webmaster Tools using the meta tag code that is given to place on my site?

The example on their site uses HTML but WordPress is designed with PHP.

I have been toying with it for too long and still can't figure it out.
