My friend converts Lp's to CD.

He posts to the cape town gumtree and gets quite a few calls every week. The best thing to do is to just make a post and see what happens.

Here's a tip he gave me.

Post your ad and then 3 days later delete it and post it again.

This way you can stay nearish the top of the listings.

List your services on all the local listing sites, for example, yell.com, misterwhat, vivastreet etc. If you look into the local listing directories you can sign up for free accounts, and list your business using your keywords in the listing, and it should get ranked and you can starting getting in business this way.

Also gumtree is great, as long as you post new ads at least once a week.

    Hope this helps,

    Jack.

Call me perplexed, but I never understand these questions at all.

      Aren't SEO services arranged/performed/transacted online?

Sorry if it's a really stupid question, but why does the fact that your business is in London mean that you should advertise in London? I would have thought that might be one of the most competitive and difficult places in the world to be advertising?

Yes, You are right, SEO is not required to be localised It can be worked from anywhere But, I guess, London is better city to make extra money compare to other cities of the world

Some people use a very simple headline and ad copy which doesn't differentiate itself from others ads or doesn't explain the benefits of the service in a very appealing way.

Try experimenting with different headlines and ad copy.

A good headline and professionally written ad with eye catching graphics can get you much better results.

Try creating a sales page explaining your offer and offer a free report to give potential customers a sample of your expertise. Include your contact details at the end of your report and your website in the header or footer of the report. Add the URL of the sales page to your gumtree ad or whichever site you decide you want to advertise on.

Youtube is now the second largest search engine. You could create a youtube video using powerpoint and do a short presentation explaining what you offer. Show some sample screenshots of websites you've worked on etc.

That should get you some interest.
