what is the best way to learn internet marketing

Hello All,

New member here and am interested in learning everything from building my own sites to marketing them and selling my products online. I am a total novice and I can see how complex this field is and how it changes. What do you all think of the certificate from the University of San Francisco? Or is it better to read books on my own, etc. There is just so much information I do not know where to begin. If you can put yourself in my shoes, I come from a totally different background but do have a doctorate degree in another field and feel I can learn this stuff and have a desire to help my partner and I get out products out there. Thanks for the unput!

Awesome for joining the forum and embarking on the journey to making an income online. First suggestion is to spend a few weeks reading the forum and find out which niche/s interests you most as internet marketing is such a huge industry with may facets to it.

When you have figured what you would like to do have a look at the WSO section and research and follow a method/guideline/blueprint that has received great testimonials and is from a highly regarded member of the forum.

When i mean follow i mean FOLLOW. Do not waver and give it a real good go, and you should end up with a result

    Hello blewwave.

We were all in your shoes at one time. For me it was 13 years ago but I remember exactly what it was like trying to find my way through the Internet maze in this vast arena.

You have to be careful because there is a lot of salesmanship out there and it is easy to spend a lot of money and be headed in the wrong direction.

The thing that will give you the best chance for success is to find an honest caring mentor. One who genuinely cares about helping you succeed and not just making money off of you. Now having said that, it can be very difficult to find this type of mentor.

Do some research here in the forum and check out anyone that you are considering giving your hard earned money too before you give them your money. Ask around the forum for referrals and look for referrals from people who have actually experienced first hand from whom they are referring and make sure they are not receiving a fee or commission for referring you. There are some good teachers here on the forum and people here are not afraid to give their opinion about something or someone that they had a good or bad experience with.

One thing to keep in mind is the best training is not cheap and just because it costs a lot doesn't mean that it is good & up to date training either. Ask for opinions and talk to your potential mentors to see if you are comfortable with them before you pay out a bunch of money.

    Good luck to you.

When I'm in doubt about a product, a tool or an IM figure, I always check this forum's Internet Marketing Product Reviews & Ratings section to get some feedback before investing any money.

A good way to set yourself above the rest of the crowd, like with annihilation really, is able research, planning and having a best strategy. you can think ideas and accomplish discussions with added delegates. If you're like me, you'll find it hard to discuss the ins and out of SEO, FTP, squeeze pages. These ways on how to learn Internet marketing strategies would really create the exposure that you need in order to be successful in your network marketing.

    Hi Blewwave,
You are in the right place. Visit every nook and cranny here. Listen and learn from the sages. Then, think long and hard about your niche. Relax.....do any ideas come to you about what you want to do? Repeat!

Even after you start, there are tons of people ready with great advice. And before you know it; you will be the person sharing valuable advice.

It's what you do when no one is watching
that determines what you will be able to
    do when everyone is watching.

One thing I am going to warn you about that so many new IM'ers and some not so new ones fall into... shiny object syndrome. I am not saying that you should not research or even purchase things you believe can help you, but once you get something STICK WITH IT! Adapt how you work whatever it is to add in new ideas and then once your making some positive headway and cash in your pocket, then think about expanding and making other purchases.

Otherwise It'll be 3 years down the road, nothing your doing is working nearly as well as it should, you have 20+ projects all running and none of them near completion and a hole in your pocket that keeps eating money.

The only way to fail is to quit... with anything there is a learning curve. If I could offer one bit of advice when marketing do not expect results right away... Its not hard work, but it's work.. Never give up..

check out the sections of the warrior forum then pick one or even two. for example you can do some offline marketing while you do internet marketing too. Then as someone already said find out all you can and get started. don't let the wso section get you captive.

You shouldn't sign up for an internet marketing certification. Everything you need to know is available on the internet. Unless you want a job in marketing or internet marketing.... you don't need to make these kinds of investments with certifications.

        Welcome to the forum Paul,

Like some of the others have said above, I would start by spending alot of time searching through this forum and reading up on different aspects of internet marketing, affiliate marketing, cpa marketing, building websites etc.

Once you have a basic understanding of a few different topics, pick JUST 1, whatever one interests you the most and focus on learning as much as you can about only that topic, and start implementing information that you learn.
