Using Free Sites to Make Money

Anyone else doing this? Yeah I know, you don't have full control over your site and it could get deleted at anytime( I've already experienced this). But 90% of the money I make comes from sites I have on Blogger and Squidoo. Yes, Squidoo has slowed down quite a bit, but my blogger sites have stayed strong. Plus if you're in a state where Amazon affiliates can't work, you can always use Squidoo to promote Amazon products!

Any other free site hosts I'm missing?

    cjshu99,

If your going to use free sites I would stick with Blogger and WordPress. I use them to market my products with success, but I also use paid web hosting also, but yes you can make some money by using free website if you promote them and get traffic to them, which is key no matter which way you go.

    All the best,

    Martin

    Yes, hundreds.

In fact you've mentioned only the bad ones, whose terms of service are so changeable, restrictive and inconsistently interpreted that countless Warriors have lost sites there.

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...y-website.html

These places like Blogger, Squidoo and HubPages are just an entirely unnecessary obstacle-course for marketers, and actually offer us nothing that we can't get elsewhere, free of charge, for ourselves.

For those wanting to use their own free-of-charge, self-hosted Wordpress blogs, there are plenty of good, well-established, reliable free hosts like Byethost and 000WebHost available.

And for those who want other kinds of sites/pages (i.e. not Wordpress) there are always the free facilities at all the places like Weebly (an excellent host), Yola, Blinkweb and many others.

The mistake - even if doing it only "for the backlinks", as I used to myself before I learned better - is to put the security of your business in the hands of companies like Blogger, Squidoo, Hub and others where you can never own or control your own site. It's all completely unnecessary and has no more benefits than the very much safer, equally free alternatives. Hundreds of Warriors have learned this (some to their very great cost) and posted about it, to share information and warn others here. In such discussions one sees the forum at its best: enabling other members to avoid "entirely unnecessary accidents".

Squidoo and blogger are pretty safe if you don't have meaning to spam their sites. That is actually biggest problem with them because they don't have support to deal with so many spam.

With wordpress hosted blogs, they are very quick to delete your blog with out notice, if they smell promotion. Not worth the risk if you ask me.

My wife made a couple squidoo len's not long ago, and there is just so many extra ads on them these days. Of course it's their service and they need to make money and pay the bills, just seems like it's tough to get clicks with all the competing ads on the lens. Unless people are still having luck with them?

Weebly only lets you create 1 free site. Yola lets you have five. Their control panel and designs are no where near as user friendly as blogger. Blogger will let you have 100 sites. And yes Squidoo does have a lot of ads but you can opt out of many of them. I have about 20 lenses and don't really make much there. Its almost all off of 3 of my blogger blogs ( I have about 15 ). They do monitor for spammy sites and will shut you down quickly with no explanation. One trick I use is that once the sites are up getting some traffic I put some adsense ads on them. Since Google owns blogger I figure they won't stop me from making them some money. ;-)

My main reason for using blogger is it's fast, easy and the sites get into Google within a day or two. Plus if it doesn't work I haven't lost anything.

There are lotsa free blogging platforms, its wise to use them for SEO and backlinks but not as the sole business.. They can be used to boost SEO for your main sites and can rank for easy long tail keywords..

I use free blogging platforms only for seo purposes and not for any other thing. They will just delete you overnight if you put in all your eggs there.

I think Blogger is the best free website/tool to use.
