Other payment processing options?

Hey guys, I will be releasing a product soon and I wanted to get some advice on who to use for payment processing. I would like to avoid Clickbank and PayPal if possible. Just wanted to get some advice from experienced Warriors here. Thanks for any input!

If you aren't going to accept Paypal, I think your own merchant account is a must.

If you're not going to accept PayPal, I think that using a payment processor that does may be very helpful, so that people with PayPal accounts and without credit-cards will still be able to buy from you, without your needing to have (or to use) a PayPal account yourself.

So, 2CheckOut and Plimus might be good starting places?

Your own merchant account may (depending on volume) reduce your processing-fees, but it won't help you to take PayPal payments as 2CheckOut and Plimus can. Huge numbers of people online have PayPal as their only way to buy things, and the potential significance of that to your profits will depend on your customer demographics.

You could be selling yourself short as most use paypal, then the best way to go is a merchant account as suggested above.

Alexa, thank you for this response. I actually should have written that into my op. I would love the option to accept without having to use them myself! I will look into your recommendations!

AlertPay is another option for you. Your customers can still pay with credit card.
PayPal or your own merchant account is still the best.

    I would go with Alertpay.com.

Many vendors are using them with great success.

The last I heard (quite recently), Alertpay was "temporarily unable" to process credit-card payments at all. It didn't exactly inspire me with confidence. Has that changed, now?

You could also try Liberty Reserve. Although the most amount of people do use PayPal so it would be wise to have some type of account that does accept PayPal to get the most revenue.
