What does gmail class as spam?

I have just looked through my spam folder in gmail and noticed that subjcet lines with some of the things below seem to end up there. However there are e mails with subject lines that seem OK from people whose other e mails arrive in the in box . I am confused as to how gmail is allocating e mails to spam. Here are some of the things that end up in spam

1) Anything with a $ sign in
2) Anything with [ ] in
3) Lots of subject lines with CAPITALS
4) Subject lines with lots of non characters like !@%* etc
5) words like money, payment and paycheck

Does anyone know how gmail is allocating spam?
The reason I ask is so I can make sure any e mails I send get through
cheers

About 20% of my spam is from Internet marketers, the rest is watches, penis stuff etc.

But as to how they classify it, I'm not sure.

I'd be interested in knowing though... perhaps there's a product idea there!

Ok I recently had a problem where gmail marks my emails I send as Spam.

Gmail hates the following words: cash, money, ALL CAPS, viagra, offer, lose weight,

Come up with synomyms for those words. Then send a test email to yourself. If it gets marked as spam try again.

I am not an expert but I think gmail's spam filter is adaptive in nature and is based on machine learning. It remembers the type of emails people generally mark as spam in their inbox and filter similar messages sent to every person.

      Hi souravdas32000
what I cant understand though is gmail has put some e mails in the spam folder from some people whose other e mails arrive in the inbox as normal.
Their subject lines don't contain any of the things I mention in the original OP. Looking through the actual e mails I cant seem to work out why some go to spam and some dont?

As I said, it is not the sender but the nature of contents of the email. Similar mail contents have been marked as spam by people before, that's why the mail is getting marked as spam. It may be a special characters or certain words, size, etc. google judges it on various levels.
