I think JV Giveaways are still a great idea. Everyone likes free stuff!

The only problem, like Tina said, is that they are all the same. If you're going to create your own you have to find a way to make it unique.

      Maybe...
Don't let all the same rehashed products in
Qualify it to be a real "giveaway" where you are actually giving away things that normally aren't free.
Use some unique story that people can connect with.

I'd do some research about all the other giveaways there are and why you and others don't see them as anything special. Then you can make yours better.

I signed up for three different ones recently and didn't find anything new at all in two of them. Anyone brand new to giveaways would probably have a field day, of course, but I was disappointed.

I have discovered some awesome lists through giveaways which I enjoy as much as the products.

I am a frequent user of jv giveaways. They are a great way to find some useful scripts / PLR products that can be combinded or transformed into new products....but like Tina stated...I see the same products over and over again....I signed up for 3 lately and come out with nothing new...
As far a contributor....it's a great way to build a list and get yourself out there in front of many.....but....one thing i've noticed is....you build a list of people who basically opt-in to get something free...and thats all they tend to look for..."free"...being unresponsive to other offers you may promote.

      Good luck,
      Ken

Considering some well known marketers just launched a new product aimed at giveaways within the last few days.. I'd say that they are still worth the effort, if used properly.
