Decided to take action. Advice / Suggestions much appreciated

I just want to start off by saying what an awesome forum!

Soaking up the sheer depth of knowledge on this site will be a big endeavor, but I'm game!

Hoping to hit the ground running in one months time after learning as much as I can about IM and generating money online. (is this time frame too ambitious for a newb like myself?)

I will have roughly $1,000 dollars to spend on building / starting my business.

I am moving to South America (Colombia) in August and would love for my online business to be generating enough money a month to pay for my rent ($200-500). Hoping with a lot of hard work and time that the figure can be much more $1,000 - 2,000 which would allow me to not work and devote 100% of my time to my online business.

With that said it appears affiliate marking is the way to go?

Pick a niche, develop a site, create valuable content, generate traffic, lock down SEO and make money off a combination of adsense, clickbank, amazon, ebooks, services, memberships ect. Then continue building the business (content, viewers/buyers, affiliates, ect)

As a newb with zero site building and SEO prowess I am considering paying someone to do the grunt work for me. I came across this thread on the forum and the content / service seem top notch.

w w w dot warriorforum.com/complete-web-sites-sale/496847-make-1-000-month-one-site-niche-supersite-crushes-panda-your-1-page-site

Would this be a wise move on my part?

Also, any specific sites / books to help me get a solid base on IM would be much appreciated! I will be buying membership to the War Room very soon as it seems highly recommended on the forum.

I am like a kid in a candy store trying to soak up all this info and hit the ground running. I don't want to rush anything so I want to give myself enough time to learn as much possible and be prepared for success.

Thanks again for the responses!

Here is my advice, it depends on what area you want to go in. I know its hard if you don't know your options. Take your time a find what resonates with you.

Find a niche, set up a process that converts targeted traffic into sales, then drive traffic into that process. Then scale it up.

I just posted this in another thread and think I'll just add a few things to it.

So many newbies delve into IM thinking they'll learn one or two easy click strategies to quickly become millionaires. I do not blame anybody because I once had this mentality.

To really succeed online, you must develop a strong mentality of taking action, and must acquire the basic skills like setting up a wordpress site, setting up squeeze pages for listbuilding, learning how to move or backup a site and indeed work on your copywriting skills.

Once you feel you've developed these, choose a niche, focus all your energies on building a list in that niche, find out what they want, build a relationship with them, and provide them links to what they want.

This is about all you'll need to see all those hard bucks in your own account, not on a webpage.

And of course, never forget the good old traffic. Learn how to get and upscale this, then you'll be a millionaire. No kidding.

Thanks for for your advice. As I mentioned Im not here to learn any 1-2 click strategies and become a millionaire. Like I said id be happy with being able to generate $200-300 bucks a month. This is selling myself real short imo with the amount of time and dedication I put into my projects as I go 110%. Hence why Im gonna learn as much as I can and put in the time / effort and hopefully the money will come.

For now though I am just gonna try and learn all the basics to IM. Then pick a method / strategy that I like and feel could meet my goals.

Todovale, I would recommend you set up your own WordPress site. If anything to get an idea of the core of what you work with, even if l later you outsource some of the code work design.

It would not be a good idea to go into any other business without knowing the tools of that trade, unless you want to be at mercy of others the entire time.

I am typing from my phone right now, but in my signature is a three step guide on how to register a domain, set up a webhost and install WordPress. It's a lot easier then you think and the fact that you signed up and posted on this forum shows you have the aptitude to do this yourself

For people just getting started, I usually don't recommend building niche sites. Only for the reasons stated above. There is A LOT that goes into it and it can be overwhelming. Just getting it built is only half the battle, so even if you outsource that the work is just getting started. Don't get me wrong you can definitely do it, and if that's the route you choose to go I'm all for it and wish you success.

When I have people work with me that are just getting started, I get them focused on 2 things. Build a high converting sales funnel, drive traffic to a squeeze page. There are many people that base their entire online business around this model. It can be extremely profitable, and you can start generating cash quickly. The learning curve is not near as steep.

Anyways that's just my advice, whatever you choose to do make sure you commit and stay focused on that strategy. You can send me a PM or add me a skype if you want to discuss this in more detail. Wish you success!

You know I wouldnt mind building / starting a site about living, traveling, and working in Colombia as a hobby as it is something I like and i'm interested in. This should help with the basics you speak of. Only problem is like I said I am a newb with everything code and html. But I suppose you can get already made templates ect. I have made a few free blogs on wordpress and blogspot in the past so I am not a complete newb in that regard.

    @Tech19

    Thanks for your input man!

Your not kidding man! There is a ton that goes into this stuff. I have got my work cut out for me. I will prob outsource the web building, SEO work, backlinking, article writting, ect. but I still need to know the ends and outs of the business to add to and sustain success.

I will look into your recommendation of building a high converting sales funnel and driving traffic to a squeeze page.
