Hi, I'm getting ready to launch a Joomla based membership site (relatively painless by the way - use a good template, JUGA, AEC and Community Builder and you get a great, very flexible membership site for not very much money at all) But I'm getting puzzled when I come to adding an Affiliate plan. Does anyone know of a good Affiliate component for a Joomla site (I'm not using Virtuemart btw) The other plan would be to use Clickbank. But I can't work out the subtler ins and outs of whether Clickbank is good for membership sites, let alone Joomla based ones. Can anyone save me three days googling and wading through dodgy review sites? Thaddeus |

Yes, that's where I'm getting to with my research too. But I see reviews of iDevAffliate that are lukewarm. Apparently it does have the advantage of (theoretically) directly integrating with Joomla and AEC though. I'm signing people up to the membership site with AEC - do you happen to know whether that would be straightforward to integrate with JRox? |

I have used IDevAffiliate on many membership sites using Joomla and it works great with the "Account Expiration Control - Membership Manager" component. I have never had any issues with it. You could also hire a coder to create a module for using ClickBank as a payment module and utilize that as a backend payment / subscription and Affiliate plugin so that you can utilize that whole network but that is kinda a pain in the ass. Hope that helps. |

As far as I know you will add some hard code to your php pages to pick up the affiliate cookies unless someone has developed a bridge - cannot find one though. I emailed JROX so I'll see Jens | |

Yes you can run affiliate programs for several websites from one installation. I use this feature to allow all my affiliates to access all my programs from one place, makes life a lot easier.

Go with idev IMHO I would actually have the idev seperate and NOT integrated into the Joomla user tables. I have run it that way successfully for a number of projects. You can skin it to look seamless, e.g. affiliates |

Aye, thats the way I do it too. The Joomla integration is pretty good though. I do like being able to turn every member into an affiliate for my products and services, that makes for an amazing automated sales force.
