Interesting Approach -- How to Get a GUT!

So my mom decided to gift me a subscription to a health newsletter
that she really likes called Nutrition Health Action.

When the first issue showed up I was taken with the headline of
the main article.

===> How to Get a Gut!

An interesting approach, no?

Basically, they're showing you how to do the exact opposite of what
you want!

The article wasn't "selling" anything (other than getting you to read
it of course), but it seems like it would be a great strategy for selling
nonetheless.

When you're coming up with numerous headlines to consider do you
ever write one of this variety that promises the exact opposite of
what your target is after?

Anyone ever do this with success?

An interesting angle to ponder, I think...

- How to Clog Your Arteries FAST.

- How to Strip Years Off Your Life with this Common Household Ingredient.

- How to Hand Over $1000 to Google, and Have NOTHING to Show for It!

And kind of fun too!

This is a pretty good idea. Anything that stands out as being different.

It seems people get so inundated with headlines that all say the same thing, if you come up with something completely counter-intuitive it gets attention.

Sort of along the same lines, I've heard of some marketers intentionally misspelling words in their ads because they got more attention and more click throughs.

People notice things that aren't quite right or out of place.

    Counter-intuitive for sure.

Which, now that I think of it, is a recommended strategy for writing press releases, because it such an effective way to engage someone.
