So, Am I Now Okay to Promote Clickbank Products?

Hello,

I've read all of the horror stories that surfaced over the past few months about clickbank. "1,000 hops and no sales". "Product used to convert at 1:30 and now it's 1:300".

I know that sales fluctuate for a number of reasons. I know that people exaggerate things. But it seemed like some people were really having problems with clickbank and not getting sales.

There is a product that I really want to promote but I am worried I won't get any credit by sending my list to the product. Do you think I am okay now to do so?

Thanks

I never know what the deal is with CB anymore If it were me, I'd just fire away and cross my fingers.

My sales across my vendor accounts AND my affiliate sales via CB are just fine.

I think you have issues like the recession affecting discretionary spending in some markets. In the IM niches you get a lot of people using their own IDs to get a discount and you have a higher rate of cookie-stuffing etc.

At the very least, always cloak your affiliate links.

That's true in a saturated market, but not true in unsaturated markets. It's why Amazon had record profits during the worst economic downturn in its existence.

Real challenge you have with CB is that if you are successful (either high popularity or gravity) you become a sitting duck for competitiors to come in and copycat what you are doing.

From market research point of view - that's terrific, but from someone who builds a highly successful product and website, not so good.

*** Newbie Warning, Handle With Care ***

...when you say promoting CB products, are you talking about you as having your own product to sell, or being an affiliate?

I've just taken the my first 'leap of faith' with PLR content and am just about to try and let the products loose on CB's market place.

When you list a new product, you don't have any Stats (gravity, etc.)... I've seen quite a few without any... seems a bit of a 'chicken and egg' situation - affiliates want to see stats to assess whether it might be worth it; the publisher/seller of the product needs affiliates to take it to promote in order to get the stats...

Is there a way to get a foot on the ladder?

    Thanks

Yep - make sales of your product without an affiliate involved, and recruit your customers to become affiliates. One sale gets you in the marketplace, two sales gets you higher in the marketplace...

So I guess I'm saying, the way to get a foot on the ladder is to test the product yourself, and prove it's worth promoting to your affiliates.

        thank you Cherilyn.

btw, "The Canadian Copywriter"... as in you write salescopy?

I've never outsourced for salescopy before, but it's something I'm considering. If you do write salescopy, drop your rates by (put them here, or PM).

If you've been hanging around Clickbank for any time you have surely noticed the main stumbling block. It is almost impossible to work your way up the Clickbank ladder no matter how good your product is. Sure, you may start on page 85 in a category and have no gravity. And you may work your way up to a gravity of 10 or 20, but you will never, ever make it to the front page.

The front two pages are dominated by the gurus who have tons of JV partners flooding the Internet with emails during launch week. The products near the top of the charts STARTED out at the top of the charts because of this fact. After a few months most drain off into the hinterlands, but a few stay at the top for many months.

The very best product I've found that shows in detail how to crack into that elite staus of top CB publishers is Jonny Andrews Guru Assassin. He gives you tons and tons of valuable info on how he did this and how you can. Only problem is that you get so many videos that it takes quite a bit of time to download the entire thing.

On top of that, and I mean no disrespect to JA, but he could sell his videos as comedy routines! If you get it make sure you listen to his little 30 second story about catching a bat in his kitchen in his pajamas. That little gig was worth the cost of the entire program--I'm not kidding.

But seriously his program is the best I've come across in a year!
