Starting an e-commerce site with a small selection?

Hi all,

I would like to start an e-commerce site in addition to selling on Ebay and Amazon.

But the issue is that my initial assortment will be rather small and I will have giant gaps in terms of accessory items (compared to the competition).

For anyone who knows the biz, do you think I'll be wasting my money if I do targeted adwords campaigns for the items I carry? I ask because I've seen other people write that they'll lose customers if the customer doesn't find the multiple items they want.

    Hi Delta,

    I recommend you test.

    To be honest with you it will depend entirely on the margins that you are making on your current product range...

    There is nothing wrong with starting the store now and expanding the range as you go along.

    But I would strongly recommend you test to see what effect your adwords campaign has.
