John Taylor why are you so amazing?

Is it just me that notices this, but John Taylor is consistently the most awesome person to post here at the forum.

He is without a doubt the most observant, fair, and authoritative person I can think of in this small world we know as the warrior forum.

I'm a young guy, and he reminds me so much of that older (no offense, I don't know you personally) grandfatherly figure that has seen everything, been there, and has a wise opinion for everything.

No matter what the argument, no matter what the original post, at the end of the thread, I also leave agreeing with what John said, even if he contradicts my own thread.

He offers a level of insight to be reckoned and acknowledged.

Newbies, if there is someone you should be listening to you, I think I've made my point.

Hats off to you John.

Actually, you have that wrong. Paul Myers is YOUNGER than John Taylor.

John Taylor is without a doubt one of the brightest members of this forum.
He has given me a kick in the butt on more than one occasion when I acted
      like an idiot.

If we all listened to his words of wisdom, I think we'd all be a lot more
      successful than we are.

And some of us would get into a lot less trouble in the process.

No it's not just you. John definately ranks up there with a handful of others that I have never seen lead anyone down the wrong path.
And here you thought no one noticed...lol

Take your bows John.....all well deserved!

    Keep up the good work...

    Ken

ps: I can only hope that I someday have the affect on others here in the WF that would want them to thank me in this way...

Oh Good Lord. As if John wasn't too big for his britches - er, kilt - BEFORE!

No, it's true though - one great thing about John - he'll always tell it to you straight. He will not sugarcoat things and if you ask his advice he'll always give you an honest answer.

I agree. John is a nice old chap. Bit long in the tooth and given to wild ramblings, but he means well.

Unfortunately his prediliction for a nip or twelve of the single malt, and his insistence on living in a remote hermitage far from polite civilization has taken its toll on his grasp of social niceties and personal hygene.

His avatar doesn't do him justice since the rot set in. Here is much more up to date picture of John in coversation with Allen Says:

I totally agree and it is very nice of you to publicly thank him.

I was very lucky when Bev (another great warrior) introduced me to John.

John is the real deal - a VERY straight talker - he just comes out and says whats on his mind eg - "your header is too wishy washy" but if you listen to what he says, reads what he posts AND put the stuff into action you will do very well.

There are a lot of fantastic people on this forum, some havent been around as long as others but they also give great commitment and time to trying to help others. They probably model themselves after the likes of John Taylor.

The people who just use this forum as a place to scam people are the ones losing out.

        Take care

        Rach

Hell, John is old enough to be Moses' grandfather

Actually, John has helped about everyone is this forum at some time or another and is well-respected by all. I know he has helped me a lot through the years with his wisdom, inspiration and advice.

This is enough nice things said about John, we won't even be able to talk to him after this thread, let's move on now!

    Thanks for the post Christopher!

John certainly knows his stuff and is a great asset to the forum.

I had the err..., 'pleasure' of meeting him a month or two back and I can confirm that he is as helpful in the crinkly old flesh as he appears here.

I must admit though, he's worn pretty badly from his new romantic days as bass player for Duran Duran. IM certainly has taken its toll on Mr Taylor

I agree -- John is old.

Oops, I just realized John's age was NOT the main point of the post. Forgive me. That's all I got out of it on my first read.

But I still agree John is one of our most unflappable, respected and generous members.

    Cheers,

We HOPE John is unflappable - or at least his kilt in a good stiff breeze is unflappable...you know what they say about what Scots wear under their kilts?
