Do you plan to buy stock?

I think it will just go up in the near term...

    The thing is.... Can facebook MAKE 100 billion? If not, then it isn't really worth 100bill. Their PPC is okay, but unless they come out with their own search engine, I don't think facebook is going to be able to monetize like google does.

      If Facebook can stay the dominant social networking site, then I think they can definitely surpass 100 billion over time. Facebook is rapidly becoming the digital world version of real life. My grandmother doesn't know what Google is, yet she has a Facebook page. If they can leverage this advantage and continue to evolve over the years, they will make ridiculous money for their investors.

        Well... they only estimate its worth based on investors and the stake given. I think the problem here is that facebook is still a baby when it comes to monetizing, and nothing remotely close to google. Google makes over 40 bill a year in revenue, yet they are valued around 170 bill i think? Facebook bringing 2 bill in revenue... I just don't think its anywhere near worth the 100 billion mark, they don't bring in nearly enough money to be worth that much. Maybe once they monetize a bit better they could.

      Well... maybe. There was a rumor that they would be. It would make sense for them to make a search engine. Since google is blackballing them by having their own social search but based on the + network. I think it would make sense for facebook to get into the market. People are always on facebook.. and when they leave, they are usually googling something. Huge opportunity there, and great way to monetize.

    Can they challenge Google more?

    Facebook need to be looking down this avenue to try and shift some of the power held and I'm sure this is what they will be looking to do.

    If so, then an investment could be savvy.

    Worth that much? Well, they have such a huge base, I'd hope they could figure a way to be worth that much. There's no doubt they're valued at $100B.

    Call me stupid but I do not see F.B. has a long term biz module. I think they have peaked. 5 years from now....i reckon they'll be confined the the AOL/Alta Vistas history pages..we'll see.
