New guy here. Tell me how im doing.

Hey guys and girls, I have been looking at this forum for a week now and see some good advice, tips, reviews, etc.

I have recently started a blog (July 29th, 2012). I have posted videos (from Youtube from other sources) and just about an article a day. The blog is about news/information and entertainment on anything on the road that is fast. I have not done many backlinks to my site. The reason for that is I can only think of (that's worth is) forums that will give me decent visitors. Being a one man show, it is hard to post on forums, make articles and search to make your site better. I'm sure everyone has been there, or is still there. Plus, I do not want to spam the forums. Although, I do have some links (directly to different post in all forums) in my signature.

I have a FB fan page, and Twitter account.

I do not have much fans on Twitter or FB (as in less than 15).
I just inputted a popup for people to "like" my FB page..... not working so far
I have put my website in a bunch of directories (some free, others were not. Looking to put in 'best of the web'.)

Up till the middle of Sept. I have been getting 30 visitors a day. Since then it has jumped up quite a good amount. Last week I was at 80 visitors a day, and the last two days I've been just over 100.

From Aug. 1st - Oct 1st. This is my stats:

Avg. Visit Duration: 00:02:53
Bounce Rate: 25.30%
% New Visits: 82.69%
Pages / Visit: 4.59
Visits: 1,652
Page views: 7,587

Being so new, I only have adsense for right now. I would like to go somewhere else. I've only made $3.00 last month from adsense.

In the next few months I plan on doing a Youtube video with my hot gf (sex sells).
Also plan to make an app for apple and android.
I am doing this all myself. Trial and error on EVERYTHING.

Thank you all for welcoming me to the forum and I hope I can learn a lot here and also help a ton. It's always good to give back !

Let me know what you think and what I can/ should improve on.

    Sounds like a great start!

Keep working on the content and traffic, and you may consider a site like text-link-ads (There may be better ones that take less of a cut? I'm not sure... Only used TLA myself) to juice some extra revenue out of your site.

Perhaps you'll come across some affiliate products that your readers may be interested in, as well.

15 real facebook likes and followers are a boatload better than 10,000 fake ones.

Thanks for the input. I have heard that if you get text-link-ads, google will downgrade your site. Is this true? Was always worried about that.

    Welcome to the Warrior Forum.
Don't take any criticisms too personally and you'll do just fine

I'd say you're doing pretty well on page views, for just getting started, but I'm sure a few people here will give you some pointers on that.

For the signature backlinks, most forums that I've run across have a nofollow rule for those, which means that they aren't really helping you in the search engines. You might try guest posting on a few high ranked blogs in your niche in order to get the backlinks in place.

Well done, that's a great start! You could move from AdSense to Affiliate Marketing then onto being a Merchant if you would like to sell your own product of some sort to increase the amount you are earning, plenty of products to sell in plenty of niches, keep up the good work!

You're off to a great start! Make sure you're building an email list and you have a really nice bounce rate (I'm jealous ).

Keep creating new content and promoting the content. Building links isn't essential. As your pagerank and authority rises, your search engine rankings will also rise.

If you are going to try out link building in the future then make sure you're building high quality links to your main site. Use secondary sites and link to your main site. Build tons of links to the secondary sites, this will make the links stronger that are pointing to your primary site.

Social media is a very important part of your site! I too find it hard building fans, but only on Facebook.

Building an audience on Twitter is very easy because you can follow other people in your niche and most people will follow you back. Here's a quick summary of how to be successful on Twitter.

    1. Follow people in your niche. No more than 50 per day or you'll probably get banned.
    2. Every once in a while unfollow all the guys that never followed you back, this gives you a nice following/follower ratio.
    3. Don't promote your own content all the time. Provide quality before you promote your own content!
    4. Rinse and repeat.

    You are doing great.

I just want to say one thing. Signing up for an autoresponder is more important than signing up for a domain and hosting service. Where I'm heading is start building a list from day 1. Well in your case, Day-1 is already gone. But wherever you go or whatever you do, build list. Remember, God Father (written by Mario Pujo) also had a list of his Friends...lols..

    Cheers friend. All the best.

Even though it is good, it is very easy to think you are not doing well. With all the people in the world, one would think 100 visits in a day isn't good. Although, I do know it is ok. My head tells me to keep going. Keep searching. Keep writing. Keep improving, and don't stop..... Hence the name

You're doing a lot better than most people that are new to Internet Marketing!

Your blog stats are great for the time frame.

    Keep it up!

Keep creating content and make sure it's worth reading. People will share it if it is. Start building backlinks, tiered link building works right now (google it or search on here), in order to get your backlink count up. Post on relevant forums and blogs and use them to drive some traffic to your site.
