Dupe Content on Some Site for PPC Campaign? Will I be Penalized?

I am 'niching' out a product where I want to have multiple landing pages on one site, all selling similar yet differnet versions of a similar product.

Will google penalize me if I have very similar landing pages? Will I get a poor quality score?

I dont see me doing anything wrong, and dont feel I should be penalized... but .. dont want to risk it

Any PPC people out there?

Google won't penalise you if you make only one of the pages bot-able. If you have indexed pages with duplicate content on the same site, penalty!

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.

    Thanks

    It just doesn't make sense..

Surely there are many ecommerce sites with the same content on each page, but with only some slight variation in the descriptions --- right?

Right - but only one of them will be available to Google to index.

Google is only interested in duplicate content on pages submitted for bot crawling - other pages don't get indexed and don't affect any of the Google sensitivities.
