What Do I Have To Do To Win?

I am fairly new to Marketing in general, I have been promoting a measly freebie incentive site for almost 2yrs and I just want a change. I don't blog or write articles cause I can't find a topic and I don't really know what my niche is but what I wanted to know is: What exactly are the steps to succeeding in this business? what does it require? give me all the 4-1-1 you got cause I am all ears.

Well, you need to learn the ins and outs of some business model and master it...simple as that but you always need to be learning and working hard. This business has gotten a lot harder than it was a few years ago. This Industry is ever evolving and you have to go with the changes if you want to be successful for the long term. I have stuck with off page SEO for over 3 years and mastered it and make a nice income from that and if you just find something that you like in the this industry and master it and market it then your half way there. The only other thing you need is hard work and always learning and growing. Good Luck

I believe it is so important to surround yourself with successful Internet Marketers to become successful yourself in IM.

I've been mentored and coached by great Internet Marketers and they've made a big difference in my learning curve. I don't believe I would of made my first dollar as fast in IM without them.

    Here's a few tricks:

First make sure you know what you want and what you need, the IM Industry is huge and there's many many ways to make money. Theirs many advices you can get here in this forum and you can get a lot of free courses on the basics of IM. Than when you are ready, look for a mentor in your field that has excellent reputation.

To know the level of reputation of an internet marketer, you need to dig all the posts and read the comments from people who bought the product (Mentoring/course/WSO) and look for WSOs that has the most positive comments.

Then look for other reviews about the person and his product in other serious IM review sites to validate his reputation.

You can have good teaching for as low as 17$ and as high as thousands of dollars. My suggestion is don't go over 500$ for courses at the beginning unless you need a real coach to help you not procrastinate your IM implementations.

Once you have the course or mentor-ship, stay focus and take actions on your mentor's strategies long enough and you will see results. It takes time and efforts too.

  • Watch what other marketers do. Don't just buy their products, but actually watch them put to use the advice they tell you works.

If you are confused I suggest paying some money for the course that can put the basics down for you. Then just use the course to build websites and as you go along put on your own twists.
This is not a promotion, but I paid for "Bring the Fresh" which helped me to get started. It's been some time and I have put my own twists to whatever I learned in that course.

My advice would be first and foremost decide what business model you are going to use? Internet marketing is about two things. Traffic and conversions. You drive targeted traffic to your offer, and then convert it.
If the quality of your traffic is targeted enough, then the conversions will start to take care of themselves because people will already want what you are offering them.
So my first step would be to decide how are you going to generate your targeted traffic, and then focus on that. Are you going to use SEO (my main method), PPC, Article writing, PPV etc.

Good advice above. You have to decide what you focus is going to be and then find out how to reach your target market. I would focus on conversions first. That is, take some time and possibly some money and build a high converting sales funnel. This way, when you start spending time and money on traffic you know that you will be getting a good ROI. So many people spend so much effort and money sending traffic to something that will never convert. Big waste of energy.

Yes, I would say identify what you're most comfortable doing at the moment and focus on that. More than anything, the key to success is hard work. That means that whatever you decide will be your focus, you will be doing THAT for several hours a day. Make sure it's something you're comfortable doing. And yes, I think paying for at least one type of course on online marketing, SEO, or whatnot, is a good idea, although I wouldn't pay too much. Generally speaking, the ones that cost the big bucks just have more bells and whistles, but not much more information. Well, my two cents, anyway.

    1. Try something that has the potential to earn you money.
    2. Do not give up trying to make it work.
    3. Change your methods/tactics/strategy when new information dictates you should.
    4. Do not give up on trying to make the new strategy/goal happen/work.
    5. Rinse and repeat.
    a. Go to college and get an education if you want something that is more certain, but potentially has a lower payoff. Maybe become a doctor. They earn lots of money.

What ever you choose, never give up, and pick new goals as appropriate. However, always have a goal.

At times you have to give up certain things/niches because you come to the realization that there's really no good alignment with your ''real'' self/purpose. They might even be profitable. Persisitence is a vital quality for success, but, you've got to be sure you're on the right path.

I'd suggest (in addition to the wonderful comments above) that you spend time knowing yourself and try and find how you can monetize your passions. Spend some time on ''big picture'' issues, you know ''soft'' considerations. Works by guys like Jay Abraham, Rich Schefren...would help tremendously.

It's not just above the models or the techniques. It's about how you approach your market. All the best to ya.

Why not try affiliate marketing? It is easy enough to find products that you could get excited about... I'd stay away from ClickBank(though many have made a fortune through them) and use services like linkshare or even more specific niches like sellhealth

It is important that one learn the basics. For that it is better to invest a bit of money in learning from some one who is experienced enough in Internet Marketing. Mike Filsame, Rich Schefren, Ryan Deiss are some of the leading names. You can do some search and then decide. One thing I too want to stress, that is 'Never Give Up'. Stay focused and keep trying. Success will eventually come to you.

You need to decide what sort of route you want to take. Offering services to businesses? Affiliate marketing? What other skills do you have?

    Hey Donisha,

Id say getting the right information early on is going to
    really help.

The fact that you have been promoting a freebie incentive
shows me that you are 'doing the wrong things'.

Also that you do not have a website or publish articles is
another thing that is harming your results.

    =================================
    So to succeed...

Find someone who is very successful doing what you
want to do and then get them to teach you or find out
    what they are doing.

It's the fastest and most leveraged way.

It's all about doing the right things consistently over
    a period of time.

    Hope this helps.
