So I Posted This Thread -- NOW WHAT...

Is it just me, or has there been an influx of 'Now What' threads lately? Every time I come online, I find at least a couple, lol.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for helping the new kids, and yes, there are indeed many knowledgeable people here always willing to lend a hand, but isn't it fair to expect even a newbie to take some initiative and learn the ropes? Do the older Warriors have to mentor everybody? Sounds like a difficult task.

Yes, by all means ask questions, but this approach/phrasing kind of comes across as 'you take your time to explain to me, step by step, how i can make it in this business.' I don't know, but it seems like the newbies are following a trend here and getting a bit lazy, so here are my answers to the 'what nows'...

-- NOW you take whatever you already know and apply it, test it, improve on it.

-- NOW you take the time to learn about whatever you don't know the traditional way -- reading, observing, imitating, practicing.

-- NOW you think out of the box and be creative.

-- NOW you do whatever it takes to become an expert in your chosen field, for this is what will secure success.

Perhaps I'm being harsh here, and I extend my apologies to the newbies if so, but even an 'autopilot' strategy requires that you do some groundwork. And this is so easy now with the internet at your fingertips.

In my opinion, the very best way to find success is to test things out for yourself, because what works for one doesn't necessarily work well for another. There is no bluprint for success. Example: some people swear by twitter, yet I often see threads entitled "is it really possible to make money through twitter?"

Bottom line: Take the initiative, invest your time, and master your craft, and you'll surely reach your goals.

Yea, but that's the nature of the beast. Everyone wants some validation at some step along the way, but few actually take the necessary step of saying "i've done x,y,z, and these are the results. Has anyone does a,b,c after doing x,y,z and if so, would you suggest anything else?"

That to me indicates you don't want to be spoonfed, instead, it shows you're taking initiative and you've done the necessary due diligence to understand why or why not something is going to work.

Instead we get "Hi there, warriors, just built my affiliate page and need to make $2,125.00 this month. Can anyone help?"

    I mean really?

    Really?

Yep, I see your point, and I've spotted a couple of those threads as well. I guess what I'm trying to point out here is that newbies need make their own rules and just go for it, and not rely solely on direction from others. I'm sure Bill Gates didn't ask 'what now.' See what I'm getting at?

If someone says "now what" - at least maybe they've done SOMETHING before asking that.

To me, that's much better than the constant "I need $XXXX in XX days" - how do I get it" threads.

I wish more people would focus on this. Everyone is looking for a silver bullet, but all you need to do is keep focusing on something you have got working and build on it.

You can make some of the people happy some of the time but you can't make all the people happy all the time.

When I first started posting on here, I mentioned my offline business background, what I had done so far and where I was stuck. I included that I had been reading the forum for a while and had done this and that and then asked where do I go from here....

Many kind people answered and gave me some very helpful advice.

A couple reprimanded me for telling me whole life story (in so many words) and said I should've kept it shorter.

Some said ask these questions on the threads you read (implying I really hadn't read anything). When I did respond to some threads I found, I got "in trouble" with the mod for commenting in a thread that was old.

So again, you can't please everyone.

My hope is that some people who are closer to being "newbies" themselves will help the latest crop of total newbies and those who have been on here a while and find it annoying or tedious to do so, will just ignor the posts and go on with their own agenda.

I agree the newer newbies helping the the NEW NEWBIES works well because they have just been there so they can relate. As for Bill Gates not asking 'what now' I think he had a team behind him and we all know

This is the one that I would implement if I was "Now What" (ie completely lost).

-- NOW you take the time to learn about whatever you don't know the traditional way -- reading, observing, imitating, practicing.
And when I found something that I could work with I'd attempt to implement it with my own spin.

Spoon feeding is for the birds. You learn nothing and get no where. It's basic how to learn stuff.
