Paypal Has Taken My Website

I was supposed to deliver 10 keywords to a person and I delivered 4 at first day and after 2 days the buyer is saying that he doesn't need the keyword and now he is requesting a refund which I didn't agree with.

After 14 days my paypal account was blocked and as well as my hosting account. When i try to contact my web hosting provider they say that the payment i made is on hold and that's why my hosting account is blocked.

    You're smoking something.

There's no way PayPal blocked your hosting account. I think if you're going to get any kind of sane advice here, you need to post a sane and detailed explanation of the issue that you're having.

As written right now, your post leaves too many questions unanswered; thus making it not possible to figure out your problem.

First yes it is true that paypal has blocked my hosting account because someone has put a charge back on my account.

I have updated the post so read the whole story

    Hello,
How did they block your hosting account? To unblock your paypal account you should be able to just login and add funds to bring your balance back to pos. balance which should unlock it. Actually they really don't lock it up for just a chargeback so you might want to call them and find out exactly why they locked it up. If its just because your balance went neg. login to your account while on the phone with them, add the funds, bring it back to a pos. then while on the phone with paypal tell them "Ok its back to pos." Now unlock me!
    That should do the trick.

I've been dealing with them for a LONG TIME ... a word of advice, anytime an order comes in and you see a "Red Flag" next to the order, do not withdraw the funds, just leave them there because 9 times out of 10, their is a reason for the red flag and paypal is going to dispute it or stop the funds. The buyer might be a known problem for instance or is linked to a bad or flagged account and the order is going to be looked at by paypal with a neg. eye. as they do and probably not let the funds go through anyway.

If you withdraw the funds and later paypal decides to dispute the transaction or look at it further, they take the funds out of your account bringing your account to a neg. then its your responsibility to add funds, even though you might have not done anything wrong.

We get this alot, we get actual customers that are honest, and have good intentions, and then paypal sticks their noses in it and decides to dispute or check the order even though we might know the customer. Its a pain, but when your dealing with them, thats just what they do sometimes.

    Hopefully this helps Good Luck!

Hmm, were you paying for hosting by the month and using paypal as a method of payment for said hosting?

HUH? No your hosting has put a block on your hosting due to non payment. Go Pay them and they will unlock it. Paypal has nothing to do with your hosting..

Well, that's your fault for not delivering. How long was it supposed to take? That would be pretty frustrating. Quick and professional service is the key to avoiding things like this.

Your paypal account wasn't blocked, stop trying to get everyone to back you up and trash paypal. You just have no money in your paypal. If you pay for hosting and have no money, how do you expect the hosting company to get paid?

How would paypal block your hosting? This is no ones fault but your own, just pay your hosting service and you will be fine...

Why would it takes days to deliver TEN keywords? That's ridiculous.

You took the money and you delayed the work - and the buyer changed his mind. You refused to refund and paypal froze your account until this problem is solved. You didn't pay your hosting (or the buyer complained to the host as well) and now you have no site.

Next time you take payment in advance - get the work done and delivered quickly. That's the lesson here.

Have you seen the offer? Did he guarantee same day delivery? Did he say he already had the keywords, or did he promise to research and find 10 non-competitive keywords for the buyer's niche? Without knowing the answers to these and other questions, you have no idea if he delayed the work. For all we know, he promised a 5 day turnaround.

Having said that, Paypal doesn't just lock accounts because of a denied refund, especially for non-physical products, or charge backs either for that matter, so there's more to the story than we're getting.

Ummm.. remind me to avoid doing business with you ever. Using the gift option does not protect you from chargebacks only paypal disputes.

Anyway, you're trying to fix lousy services and quality, by trying to game the system instead of doing everything you can to make the customer happy as a means to avoid a chargeback. Not a good way to go IMO.

I think what's going on is his paypal account was frozen or the payment he received from his customer was put on hold due to a paypal dispute, in turn the funds needed to pay for his hosting account were not available. Thus, his hosting company freezes his account.

Nothing you can really do but resolve the issue with your client.

When that's done, get your paypal account reinstated, then get your hosting back up.

I have a million and one horror stories with paypal. I'll only use them if it's the ONLY payment option a seller accepts....and I have no idea why people are still stuck on them after all the CRAP they put people through...There are plenty of other payment options for a seller to use.

Sign up for your own authorize.net gateway and use a shopping cart system. It will save you and your buyers thousands of headaches in the future..Just a recommendation for sellers.

When it comes to basic services, like hosting and autoresponders, I pay on my card and not with my PayPal account.

This will teach you a lesson. The buyer is ALWAYS right.

Even if you don't agree, just refund them to save yourself the hassle. Then use the time you would have spent arguing and debating over the refund to do something productive.

Surely the most sensible thing would be to refund the buyer so that Paypal unlocks your account and you can pay for your hosting. Whatever you think is right, Paypal will side with the buyer and s/he'll get refunded no matter what you do. The refund - for 10 keywords - can't be a great sum of money. Do whatever you can to get back in business.

Absolutely, undeniably, 100% false. Just ask anyone who has had their refund denied by Paypal because it was a digital product or a service.

Having said that, apparently this is a charge back, so Paypal doesn't really have a say in it anyway. It's up to the credit card company to decide whether to refund.

100% false... but having said 100% false here is why it isn't false!

We're not talking about things in general but this particular case.

Why did it take you more than one day to deliver 10 keywords? Are you explaining yourself correctly?

If you took that long to deliver 10 keywords then no wonder she wanted a refund. But I somehow think you're not explaining yourself correctly. Saying that PayPal took your website is completely false. They don't take websites...

This doesn't make any sense and the type of transaction described is not even disputable with Pay Pal. I've done hundreds of thousands with Pay Pal in the past and recently paid someone a $1,000 down payment to develop a site for me. The guy gave me nothing, I filed a complaint and was told that that type of transaction is not covered. The Pay Pal guarantee relates to tangible products only.
