Simple Strategy for MORE FB Likes..

Hi Warriors,

As of the last couple of months, I've been working on leveraging Fan Page Marketing. The strategy I am currently using is showing good results and I thought I should share this with some of you guys who are trying to harness facebook marketing. It's hardly a new trick, so I apologize if there is already a post on this.

Fan of the Month Reward/Event:

1) Install Booshaka to your Page - Click here

Booshaka is a great Fan tracking tool of which measures your fan's engagement on your page via Likes, Comments, Shares, Posts on your wall etc. It updates their stats daily and places them on a leaderboard.

2) Set up a event on your Fan Page.

3) To encourage people to Like your page and take part in your event, (which is crucial!), I would advise you to invest in a reward. The reward could be anything! Just try and make it niche related. For me, I've used a niche-related $100 gift card.

4) Now some of you may be thinking, "why would I invest in a $100 prize for a fan of the month?!", well this is where you need to think like a business!

5) For my page, I've made the event revolved around rewarding the winner of FIVE Fan of the Months! Think about it...they need to win 5 fan of the months in order to win this gift.

The more fans you gain, the more competition those fans have to face. This makes it more challenging for the reward to be won by individuals, which essentially prolongs the event. Ultimately giving you more time to gain more fans!

6) In the event's description, explain that participants gain points through LIKING, COMMENTING and SHARING your Fan Page's statuses, question polls, pictures, etc. The more they do that, the more points they gain, which means the higher chance they win fan of the month.

Now think about it, you are harnessing the power of your fans social capabilities. Due to the fact that they are engaging so much on your content, this ultimately leads to MUCH more exposure for your page!

Tell them to keep tabs of their score through your "Top Fans Tab" (made by Booshaka) on your page!

7) When writing your event's rules/procedures, encourage them to Invite their friends to the event, or make a rule where they need to invite a minimum of 20 friends or whatever in order to participate in the event. Once again, this gives you more exposure!

8) Now that your event is all up and running, you need participants, likes, fans, etc. But we do not want any old fans! We want targeted ones!

9) Post your Event details 2-3 times a week initially on Niche related FB pages, forums, and other places where your target market congregate. Try not to spam, thats not cool!

10) If you want, you could also place some FB ads to your target audience, keep the body of text on your ad short, sweet and straight to the point. Use a catchy image, but do not go too mad! Sometimes "Less is More".

11) Make sure your post is clear to the point and entice them to Like your page to participate in your Event. Providing that your niche has a decent amount of folks, you should see some great results!

My results have been promising in my opinion. Since doing this concept 4 days ago, I've gained nearly 300 fans. That number is set to grow as my number of fans grow! I've nearly got 1000 other people invited to the event by those participating the event. The best part is, your fans will be doing most of the promoting/branding for you!

The bottom line to me is that my $100 reward is a very small investment considering the amount of fans I've gained so far and what I can expect to see in coming weeks. The best thing about this idea is that it's a long term event that gives you tonnes of exposure for a lengthy period of time.

At the same time it keeps your audience engaged and it's quite nice to give something back. It's a very small price to pay for fan page that you can promote to in the future for a long time.

ASIDE FROM THIS STRATEGY - REMEMBER TO POST QUALITY CONTENT TO YOUR FANS, BUILD TRUST WITH THEM!

That's enough from me now , hope some of you have found this post useful. Have a great day.

    Awesome strategy for real fans.

I really feel like with social media you GET if you GIVE. The $100 gift card is an awesome idea btw.

And then you mention at the end the strategy is only as good as the high quality value you are providing otherwise.

    Great advice here.

Hey Dan J that is a great list of things you can do to increase your FB likes. As I have started to really play around with facebook pages the one thing that keeps coming up is what you mentioned at the end: quality content. Having good related quality content can really make all the difference!

Obviously it depends also on what you are trying to achieve with your marketing but its no point ignoring the fact that social marketing in all its formats is a great way to boost your profile and ultimately your sales etc as long as you are participating fully within the spirit of social interactions.

Sorry I don't quite understand mate. Do you mean a reward based strategy? If so, yes.

@RylanClayne, you are completely correct! Quality content is what will create a strong relationship between our audience.
