Fiverr Blocked Me For No Reason. Can I Get My Money Back?

Hi all,

I believe most of you are using Fiverr too. Well, I got banned today after I ordered $60 worth of gigs yesterday. I just opened a dispute for all of them and was wondering if it is possible to get my money back?

i don't think you can get the money back, your orders were already placed with the sellers, and even though fiverr banned your account, the seller are not aware of this case.

If your ordered something like backlinks, you will get them delivered, if you ordered something require login to fiverr, you will not be able to receive the service.

Banned for ordering gigs!? That sucks... you should be able to get your money back from them. Did you use paypal? As a last resort, you can always contact paypal or your credit card company and dipute the charge. They'll help you out, but they will expect that you have contacted fiverr. Keep records of all your contacts with them.

    Good Luck!

Well maybe cus you opened a dispute for ALL of them? That is 12 gigs and 12 disputes.

Or did they ban you after you ordered the 12 gigs with no disputes?

Fiverr's policy in this regard is nothing short of PREDATORY.

They ban sellers and buyers alike, and almost never give you VALID REASONS. Just the standard "you have violated the terms of service" message - with no explanation.

You can write to them until you're blue in the face and chances are you won't get a HUMAN answer for a good while, if at all.

They stipulate 45-90 days for you to get your money back (if you're a seller), but you can begin asking for it after a month - it might work. If you Google this, you'll find people who have never received their money back as well, if you believe them.

They also have no compunction about banning sellers with 100% good track record and thousands of sales - treating them all equally: as plebs.

I've made a very nice income (5 figures) with Fiverr, had the best reviews and lots of "best of fiverr" picks - then got banned without ANY valid reason given.

If you do decide to do business on Fiverr, do so at your own risk. Sure, the percentage of HAPPY buyers/sellers is overwhelmingly in their favor - but - if internet posts are anything to do by, the number of very unhappy (and justly offended) people is GROWING at an alarming rate.

I don't mean to be a smart @$$, but these kind of surprises should be expected from a service that defines inappropriate transactions as "nonsense or any uncool stuff" in its own legal document (terms of service). Fiverr can be fun, but there are more appropriate alternatives for serious online business that clearly spell out what is and what isn't allowed.

Yes, I got banned BEFORE I dispute the gigs and they ban me again after I dispute that. Fiverr is getting from bad to worse. It was a great concept but I think it's management just screwed up.

So they banned you. Reinstated you. Then you disputed every single gig you'd purchased?

I'm not surprised they banned you again! I'd have done the same thing.

Let's see if this is correct. You order 12 gigs and then dispute ALL of the gigs? Did you also dispute the fees in Paypal or just dispute them in Fiverr.

Why would anyone who disputes all the gigs he buys want to use Fiverr again?

I've ordered tons of gigs and have been happy with them all. What exactly are you buying? Hardly sounds like you're an innocent victim in this.

      • People who complain about being banned are usually less-than-forthcoming. Or they were banned for something they don't think should be an offense, like contacting a buyer/seller outside the Fiverr messaging system.

Almost since the first month Fiverr began, people have been coming here and bragging about how they make so much more than $5 because they're collecting list members or directing them to their own site for upsells or whatever. We're told it's smart to treat Fiverr like a big lead generation machine. Before now Fiverr's been slow to act but the pace is accelerating.

It's not hard to both legally upsell and keep your Fiverr account, even if it's not enabled for upsells. Just confine your communication to the Fiverr system and have your customer buy multiple gigs for bigger jobs. It's when you try to keep that $1 out of every $5 for yourself that Fiverr retaliates.

You get to advertise there for FREE. I think they should institute an upfront gig fee for sellers. It would cut down on a lot of the nonsense and get rid of the deadwood.

Does not make sense, maybe give us more info...
From your post it looks like you were banned, given a lifeline, then you
disputed multiple Gigs and got banned again.
If that's the case then you have no complaint...

I've actually had good luck getting things straightened out with them a couple times. It would take a couple days, but once I explained my side they fixed it for me.

Of course I'm sure it depends greatly on what you got nailed for...

This doesn`t sound good, Fiverr was doing so well and I hope it keeps growing but with people online upset, fiverrs reputation will be affected for sure.

This scares me a little because when you use fiverr for so long and hear about these types of things, its not healthy for the community.

I am seeing on one side fiverr banning people and other side there are plenty of cases of paypal limiting accounts. Where do we stand if it continues like this ? What's the future of gullible internet marketers from these giants ?

Don't think so. If the person is giving you something that relates to something outside of Fiverr, like backlinks or something that somebody suggested, you'll get them but if it's something that they have to give you through Fiverr, then I don't think you can.

It sucks and they really should give you the money back for ordered gigs. Haven't heard of something like this happening before apart from someone's earnings doing gigs for people. He never got his money back either...

I know you hate Amazon as you post all the time about it, but it ain't dead bro.

And I don't think Fiverr could ever or will ever compare to Amazon.

I never had a problem on Fiverr. I've ordered multiple gigs before, too. I would see what happened and I would suggest writing a letter telling them you are sorry if you misunderstood the terms and services. I know there is a method of being reinstated that you can follow through with if necessary. Your account probably will only be banned for a couple of months at the most.
