Heartbreaking day ...... seeing people laid off

Today was a very heartbreaking day for me .....
I am new in IM, so I still have a day job. And quite
a number of my colleagues were laid off today. These
are people with family, children and wife and a mortgage
to pay. It was an emotional day, and it makes me want
to work even harder in IM to be financially free.

I am wondering if there are any warriors out there that
have similar experience. And for those that are already
financially free, what do you have to say.

Cheers

    Jayman,

I can empathise. Many years ago I was the unlucky person who had to tell staff members that they had been retrenched because of a recession and simultaneous company takeover. It was a heartbreaking job.

Today, I can empathize even more, because, my husband and I are helping to support 3 families (excluding ourselves) and we are close to the edge ourselves.

No I have not yet become financially independent yet, but I am working hard at it. I won't give up, because I really believe that I am close to making it.

My spirit remains high and I am utterly determined!

Yeah, I am one of the people who is getting laid off.

Oh well, I am a bit relieved because I have some savings and no kids to look after. I might be a bit more stressed if I have a family to take care of ...

But as they say - a door closes and another opens - I am lucky that I have started my own business (and now will use the internet to really ramp up my income).

Kind of scary though ... now my income will solely depend on my own efforts (whereas if you are employed at least you can slack off for a few days).

I have been seeing too many threads on different forums (not Money Related) about people losing their jobs and not being able to find anything. It is a horrible time for many.

I think I was lucky enough to find some success online a little over a year ago, when I quit my job and went online. You see, the amount of users on the Internet is ridiculously huge and we have the chance of reaching these users at virtually no cost! So, no matter how bad the economy is, there will always be folks that purchase and there will always be markets that are in high demand - and we, online marketers have access to all of it!

Even if I wanted to I probably couldn't lose my income. Thank You, Internet

I know some people who are or have been laid off, but what upset me the most was when I read about a local tattooist who was celebrating the birth of his daughter, got attacked and severely beaten up losing most of the use of his tattooing arm. He has now lost his career and has a mortgage and a new family to pay for.

      Hey Jayman,

      Sorry for the Bad news...

Here what I can say... I went through what many are suffering now, long ago, since I was a Mortgage & Real Estate Broker. And its wasn't that I didn't have the business because I recieved calls, emails everyday for pass clients/friends (my clients became my family) and it BROKE MY HEART to have to tell them that they owed more on their house then it was actually worth and they could not refinance...

And I was known as "the guys who could help anyone", I would recieve calls from all over the USA, (how? I have no idea) from prospects/brokers saying I heard you the man that can get anything done.

Note: I never did anything illegal, unethical or put anyone in a situation they would have been worst off in, I just helped those in trouble, fix their financial siutaions by calling every bank on a lender list of over 400 lenders until I found them the best deal or I would work with them for Free to help them raise their credit and get "back on track" and never gave up.

And while I had plenty of clients calling, I couldn't take finaly having to tell people "I Can't Help You" because I considered myself a "problem solver" and always found a way but my life, my trade and my expertise was, 1 day to the next, WORTHLESS!

Yes I could have still made a living, but having to "let down" 9 out of 10 people who came to me was to much pain (yes it was literally painful) to deal with...

However, I found another way to make a living and help people which is through what we are all doing Right Here Right Now... Internet Marketing!

I would suggest that you keep doing what your doing and then you could maybe train and help those friends/co-workers do the same and if you believe in Karma then you know that "what recieve what we give."

Quick Tip: Stick to "1" course and 1 "Money Making Opportunity". DO NOT jump around from course to course (as tempting and damn exciting as it gets). To be honest, the majority of them are all the same stuff with different "technique names, hype and angles".

Find a market you are passionaite about, figure out how you will make money (Pay Per Click, Pay Per Lead, Selling Products, Affiliate Marketing or my favorite "All Of The Above")

And DO NOT worry about being "Perfect", because when it comes down to it "Something Is Better Then Nothing". Yes you could "possibly" make a "perfect product" which will take you years to complete but instead start small & easy, and then when "build a list", survey that list, inteact with your community you create (ie. by having a blog with free content) and they will tell you "EXACTLY WHAT PRODUCT THEY NEED YOU CREATE OR PROVIDE THEM WITH AND WHAT PROBLEMS THEY NEED SOLVED!

I hope I didn't lose you! Basically, keep your head up, find something that you would enjoy doing to make money online, "Master It/Kill IT" and then help those you love and enjoy being friends with do the same!

Take it 1 step at a time and don't be overwhelmed by all the hype and big numbers thrown around in out indutrsy because when its all said and done $400-1000 a week is more than enough to pay the billd and live comfortable. I know when I heard millions and hundreds of thousands of dollars, it overwhelmed me at the beginning, until I realized $2-3k a month and I am happy and so is my family!

      I hope this helps some...

The job losses just keep mounting. I have seen many
times more people coming into the place I work, looking
for work, in the past month, than I have in the past 3
        years.

These scary times have really made me focus on becoming
my own boss and working from home.

I wish I had the power to help everyone around me to see
the internet as the sheer financial opportunity it is. The
internet basically gives each and every person with an
internet connection the ability to create as much income
        as they want to.

It takes time, experience, the ability to learn, and persistence
to make things happen online, but anyone "can" do it.

Keep up the good fight, jayman. You're on the right course.

This situation is very sad, with constant news coming out about 1000's of people losing jobs over here in the UK. It seems every other day another huge company are bust with 1000's out of work. Luckly for me the company I work for are currently doing quite well considering the state of affairs but nothing is gaurenteed at the moment, it seems IM is the way to go!

Erm, quitting my job was the best thing that ever happened to me.

For crying out loud, this is the Warrior forum! Get out of the funereal mood and start creating value.

Getting heartbroken is not going to help anyone.

I thank God every day that I discovered the internet marketing opportunity. I feel for those being laid off, and so many of them feel like they have no hope cause they don't know about the opportunities that are out there.

I am optimistic though that the economy will come back fairly quick. Within a year or so, I think things will be turned around.

What Allen said. If you have any experience with making cash online, packing your job in / getting laid off could well be the big push you have been needing. Being skint can be quite the motivator.

It's really bad situation around the world, people are loosing their jobs & struggling so much to manage themselves & families. The real problem is almost all day jobers never think out of box. They never even know what is internet marketing, i guess not everyone is capable of catching the ideas for alternatives in life.

We can't predict the time & future. the economy will come up for sure 1 day, but we must be alert by having 2nd income stream always. But IM is not easy like hearing about that & start implementing the ideas & start seeing income immediately. You have so much of learning curves to work hard to get passive income like day job. Don't give up, you will become successful.

I'm one of the casualties of the massive layoffs that seem to be taking place globally. I'm actually thankful as I'll now be able to focus completely on creating my own income online. My day job kept getting in the way.

I'm excited about the possibilities and looking forward to being the captain of my own ship, so to speak I've given myself until the end of May to create an income of no less than 3,000 per month. If I don't accomplish this, I'll go job hunting...yuck! I'm fairly confident that I'll be making that or more because the idea of having to become a wage slave again makes me shudder.

I find it sad that 1000's of people are losing thier job, my sister and my neighbour have both been made redundant.
My sister has never been unemployed since she left school about 30 years ago and she is really down about it, especially as her mortgage payments keep going up, fortunatly her husband still has his job (hgv driver).
I may teach her about affiliate marketing to earn a few bob.

I'm seeing the same thing and have many friends who have recently lost their jobs.

Another troublesome thing I see in my area are companies taking advantage of the high unemployment. Several large companies that are well into profit and not suffering significantly from the economy have used the crisis as an excuse to reduce workforce, double the workload on remaining employees, etc in an effort to increase profit.

Several are also greatly reducing work hours for some of their employees - some by as much as 80% fewer hours in a pay period and eliminating benefits such as health care. That keeps the companies from unemployment claims and benefit costs and they can do it because the workers know finding another job is difficult right now.

We are fortunate to be earning online - but we can't ignore the reality of what so many are going through now. It greatly affects buying power and until the economy stabilizes that could also affect our sales.

I'm surprised he rmortgage payments are going up if she lives in the UK Valdor, (I guess she doesn't) The low interest rates for people paying mortages is the only decent thing to come out of this mess though I appreciate it stinks for savers

Thanks everyone for your input, and thanks Kevin D for your encouragement. The economic situation is surely tough now,
but I heard that in every economic crisis, there are always a
bunch of people that is making a fortune.

Also for us that is still having a day job, an doing IM during
spare time, it is not that easy just to quit the job and jump
full time into IM, as I think the business needs time to grow
into a sustainable business that provide stable income every
month. So, that's the fear for us during this economic crisis.
Appreciate any input you can provide on this.

    Cheers

From what everyone keeps saying on t.v. is that it is going to get worse too before it gets better. My neighbor just lost his job about two weeks ago. Made about $50,000 and was just about 5 years away from retirement. He has two kids and his wife is pregnant with the third. He has no idea what he is going to do becaues he can't even get an interview anywhere.
