hello, i am looking at autoblogging.
now i know that google likes to see you add or change something on your site everyday, so i am thinking of just adding a daily autoblog.
will i still get the same good result from google if i make a daily autoblog on a sub domain instead of the main domain?
example--if autoblog is on the subdomain, will this influence the main domain or only influence the sub domain?
thanks
tt

First of all, make it sure that autoblogs are still doing well after Google has changed its algorithm. So that your effort won't end in smoke.

Some plugins for autoblogging pulls garbage contents, so you should be mindful about it. What plugin are you using if you don't mind?

Are you talking about mage monster site?

Anyway, let's wait for other responses from seasoned warriors.

    thanks for the reply
i am using 'wpematico.zip' plugin, and i am only testing this plugin on a test site.
when i put it on the real site, i was going to get a daily rss feed from a business on the same topic as the site is, this should make it look real, although this is probably an old system of daily use and i don't know if google dislikes it
    thanks

autoblogging is an art form. it works if you do it right, but it's as much work to get it right as it would be to just get original content.

I wouldn't use a sub-domain. It could effect the parent domain and it's just too cheap to buy a throw away test domain name. I would one and test stuff there and avoid the risk.

Autoblogs aren't worth to use after Panda update. And yes, Google admire 'unique and original' content, not duplicate ones.

Sub domain will have a different influence and it is treated as a different domain/section by Google, but using a subdomain in your case is not recommended.

    Good day,

I would use autoblog in addition to your main domain with original content. But rather than using subdomain for the autoblog, I think it is better to make another installation on your main domain just for the autoblog, for example maindomain/blog. If you link from the autoblog to the main domain that can help your ranking.
But thats just my experience, I'm sure others will have different opinion...

thanks everyone for the comments. they have helped me heaps.
i see that a blog in a sub domain is no use, but a new post in the main domain is the way to go.
i see how google wants original content, so an autoblog is not that good.
it seems it would be better to start a new blog post and just add an xtra 100 words everyday or two, than an autoblog which is recycled old rss.
i was looking for an automated method for this process, but i suppose like everyone else, the time consuming manual method is the proven best
thanks once again to everybody who took part in my thread, and any additional information would be appreciated

I tried the autoblog route once, until that panda update laid the hammer on my site. My adsense income proceeded to drop to virtually nothing.

The message from google became clear: Create your own content.

If all your content was auto-generated I think you can consider yourself really lucky you haven't been banned from Adsense, I believe such a site is against the TOS, you might just want to check up than in their guidelines.

It really depends on what you are autoblogging.... I use autoblog to pull related products from amazon, clickbank, etc. I have done well with autoblogging videos as well. google likes videos. However videos cannot rank so you will need to write content to help your site rank. I successfully ranked a site without building backlinks using this strategy. I wrote 10 pages of content each 1500 words + and than proceeded to autoblog videos. Eventually after 7 months my site was in top 5 and remains there.

I've set up a couple of video autoblogs on subdomains just for testing purposes..... and without any backlinks they do fine !

They pulling 1 video per day and they get about 170 unique visitors per month.

      No Influence the main domain.

I don't place Google Adsense on these sites,either.....as it's against Adsense TOS !

You can monetize with Clickbank and Amazon products !

Personally I prefer to invest my time and money on sites with original content.....

      Haha, exactly.

I also have to agree with the comment above that it's an art form. I love wp-robot for what it is, but it's just that, an auto-blogger. I make money with it (and mage monster), but it's a different critter too.

Ive used autoblogging before. The problem with Autoblogging is the copyright issue. Back then I got a couple of notices/warnings about copyright infringement and I had to take the content down.

The search engines don't like auto blogs and are constantly updating their algorithms. The end goal of a search engine is to provide unique, quality, and up-to-date information to the end user based on what he or she is searching for. Therefore, I recommend that you either learn to write such content yourself or outsource it. One thing that many people fail to realize is that in addition to their various algorithms, there's also a human element involved in getting ranked. The search engines aren't stupid. Don't waste your time with shortcuts.
