I was laid off. You could be too...

I was laid off at UPS.

But here's the thing.

It was the best thing that ever happened in my entire life.

You could be laid off too.

If it happens.

Use it to your advantage and prove the system wrong.

Now I employ others.

It's amazing how 2 years can change everything.

But here's the thing.

I say "employ". But I really mean, "work alongside".

Instead of saying, "Hey, this is your job! Get back to work!".

I say, "Hey, I love working with you. Thanks for being so awesome."

I was laid off.. you could be too.

Good story, I'm glad to hear that you pulled it off. Hopefully a lot of folks that are laid off now can do the same with our help.

People are laid off constantly. And how some may see it as a bad thing.. I see it a way to progress/grow.

That's a good way to look at it. Most people are devastated, but where one door closes, another opens.

The path to evolution there dude, great work. I've been trading the options markets for a few years and I lost a lot at the beginning, but I stuck at it while my friends threw in the towel, but now I can earn in a few minutes what took me a few days. Keep at it and you will get to where you want to be.

      Definitely

The internet has opened my eyes to the real possibilities of getting a message out. It's unlike anything that's ever existed prior.

That's why we need to use it wisely

I feel ya on that one Justin... I actually got laid off a couple of years ago when Verizon bought out Alltel Communications and they felt our department was great but not needed anymore. Been a struggle with job searches since.

Wishing I had gotten into IM sooner, but pushing ahead with some ideas in mind and trying to get them into action. I'm hoping to start seeing some results with some of the things I've been working on little by little. Pushing in faith, prayer, and hard work in hoping I can start seeing some great things happen with my life, not only for myself, but more importantly, for my wife and son. I'm confident and optimistic. Still a bit of a road to travel though before I can hope to see $250 a day or more every day. Not giving up though... that already equals failure.

I think I've been laid off and fired more times then I can remember..Mostly when I was younger and didn't care.

I'm always glad to hear people that are making it in this biz. Congrats bro!

And from a different twist... I was never laid off, but I made the decision to become a stay@home mom when I found out I was pregnant with twins. Three years into it, I have learned that while I LOVE my kids, being a stay@home parent isn't everything it's cracked up to be.

I'm not complaining, but I am openly and honestly admitting that I need to do something other than wiping noses, butts, and singing songs all day.

Internet Marketing has given me the best of both worlds! So - getting into this business can open windows for anyone in any type of situation.

Having kids and being a stay at home mom is why I started a business too. Tried a work at home job, but when I learned about internet marketing, I had to go in that direction, and I don't regret it one bit.

Doing nothing but caring for my kids all day would drive me right up the wall. They're great, I do a lot with them, but I love the mental stimulation of doing something of my own too.

        Great post.

The best thing I did was resign from my job. I spent sleepless nights and stressed the crap out myself, but looking back I wish I had done it sooner. I see the world differently now.*

*recommended only if you are in a somewhat financially stable situation and have a plan of a attack

          Agreed on the "*".

If I was still at my job, I wouldn't see the world any differently really.. Of course that's just what I think now.

Looking back at my life, the world of internet marketing was the best thing that ever happened to me and I have gained so much respect from each and every person I meet when they find out this is what I do now

I suggest you read a book called "REWORK" too, that changed my life even more.

Very inspiring... You just have to trust yourself and believe that there's a better one for you that's why it's happened. It's a chance for you to find yourself and seek what you really want. Prove yourself you can do it on your own and couple it with some hardwork - then everything will fall into place.

Let me just say, i've had the pleasure and privilege of speaking with Justin on many occasions, he's helped me quite a bit, and has given me a peek into his world. And let me tell you, this guy has absolutely mastered his craft, and at a young age too, i've been blown away on more than one occasion with some of the things he's shown me. You know there are a lot of people on this board who'll talk a big game, but at the end of the day it's just hot air and they're usually just about themselves. Justin however is the real deal, he walks the walk, and best of all he's humble! So if you're smart you'll make friends with him, and listen to every word he says to you. Part of success is associating with successful people, as that will elevate you to another level.

and no I wasn't asked to make this post, i'm just being honest as i'm grateful for how much he has helped me.

I've never been laid off in almost 36 years! But I have laid myself off by resigning voluntarily to go look for better opportunities. Been self-employed for over 10 years now - I'm working harder than I did when I was employed but loving every minute of it.

Stick with it, if you stay on the path, don't give up, treat it like a real job and not just an experiment or side gig, and go after it like a warrior, you'll succeed. So many fail in this industry because they try something, it doesn't work, then they give up, and what could of been, becomes what isn't. Let me tell you though, some people are not only making A LOT of money on here, but they're having fun doing it and over time it actually becomes easier. It's going to be tough starting out though, make no mistake, yeah you'll hear of the 2 monther's who pulled whatever number, but that's not common and shouldn't be expected. Also don't waste your money buying a bunch of "how to products" most that info is completely free if you really look for it, this forum is a gold mine in terms of information in itself.

I am trying to get something going on the side anyhow, but if I did get laid off, it's good to know I now have a skill set where I could just hit fiverr, local businesses and ramp up my online presence loads to keep me and the family housed and fed.

Your inspiration and hearing your sort of stories is inspiring, thanks.

      I agree.

To be able to live the life we live is outstanding.

Even if it's only a few $$, that's more than a homeless person makes (well depending).

It's nice to know that we can build our own sense of security outside of a regular work environment.

I was laid off back in Oct 2011 and I used that time to really crank up my IM efforts along with getting some unemployment on the side.

I'm back to work now, but I'm completely ready just in case I get laid off again because I'm 100% certain I'll make my living doing IM with the time I get back.

Getting laid off back in Oct was probably the best thing that ever happened to me.
