My Plan, as a somewhat NOOB!! Comments welcome please.....

Hello all,

as you can see by my start date here I have been off and on here for sometime. This has been one of the best forums I have ever seen. Life changes and now its my time to do the same. So this is what I came up with. Please feel free to point out, suggest or just whatever here for me.

So here is what I was thinking, My Birthday is coming up in 44 days. I would like nothing more than to actually make some money by then. I want this to be my year!

1- Find a hungry Niche outside of IM
2- Figure out keywords
3- Write a short report
4- Create an online presence - Preferably my own, but thinking maybe a free host for now
5- Not sure if I should do an opt in landing page, or just an opt in on the page (their choice to sign up)
6- Figure out how to drive free targeted traffic
7- Figure out tracking and stats to see whats working
8- Continue with this till it profits
9- Rinse and repeat.

I am still a bit confused on the proper numbers to be looking for with this keyword thing. But I also figured I would post this on the WF. Would you recommend a particular person or program, or just keep reading the free stuff. I am also thinking of paying for the membership at the WF.

I had also put up a post in the Challenge area for a Mentor. So if anyone is still interested I that would be great. I am willing to listen, learn, and apply. Someone witha better map than what I am looking at would be awesome. I look forward to everyone comments and suggestions.

Semi-Noob (I don't want to be a noob anymore, help me BURN THIS FENCE DOWN!!) lol

What is your definite purpose? What is your USP? Put aside the niche searching for a second. If you want leverage and residual involved in your business model you need to choose one of two options.

    1. Product owner
    2. Network marketing.

I do not suggest you go out into the internet marketing world just as a affiliate. You have the same chance as a performance based sales man. You have given the generic model that the bulk of marketers are using. Remember the bulk of marketers are getting little to no results. Figure out your definite purpose first. Figure out your USP. If we were to say the name Ken Balanger in 5 years what would people immediately associate your name with.

Here is an example. Robert Kiyosaki. Oh the Rich Dad Poor Dad. Me? The Secret Equation. Mike Dillard. Magnetic Sponsoring was his launch off. Figure that out first. Use one of the two models to gain access to Massive leverage potential and residual income potential.

Yes its unique selling proposition. You sound like a smart guy. You will do great. What makes Ken different than hundreds of thousands to millions of marketers needs to be answered before you can truly begin. I like to look at it like this: Your definite purpose is like you creating your Mt. Everest that you will spend the next several years climbing. Your USP is the one idea that you will build your empire off of. Something simple yet so powerful that it has the potential to change unlimited amounts of life's.

Good luck Ken! As long as you keep your focus and do something everyday to move closer to your target I'm sure you will make some money.
BTW definitely use a squeeze page as well, thats the only way you will be succesful longterm.

Notice that both of Ken's examples are of people in the IM niche. Most folks don't recommend the money making niche because they don't want your competition. Whatever niche you do choose, make sure it has lots and lots of hungry traffic.

    The 4 hottest niches

    Making Money
Health & Weight loss - best adsense
Relationships & Dating - no adsense
    Personal Development & Self Discovery

Of course there are lots of niches you can specialize in within these niches. But, your best option is to be in all of them when you get underway.

As for free traffic, become a YouTube expert.

At last! Someone with a PLAN! It's just an outline, but never the less an organized approach! I've put some suggestions below.

1- Find a hungry Niche outside of IM.....
Answer: Go to Amazon.com Best Sellers. Or watch late night T.V. infomercials

    2- Figure out keywords
Answer: Google Keywords Tool, still free!

    3- Write a short report
Answer: Easy enough. Use a free keyword density tool online to make sure it has about a 2.8 to 3.2% keyword density.

4- Create an online presence – Preferably my own, but thinking maybe a free host for now
Answer: Get your own hosting account, Host Gator is very inexpensive, and continue participating in forums, plus You-Tube is a MUST!

5- Not sure if I should do an opt in landing page, or just an opt in on the page (their choice to sign up)
    Answer: Experiment with both.

6- Figure out how to drive free targeted traffic
Answer: Forums, still the most effective free method

7- Figure out tracking and stats to see whats working
Answer: You can do this with your own hosting account

8- Continue with this till it profits
Answer: Just keep learning and implementing

    9- Rinse and repeat.
    Answer: Bingo!

    Well done Ken,

    Atleast you know what you will be doing! Heres another tip for you;

Everyday at the start of the day write down the 5 most important things you have to od that day and you can't sleep until they are done. If you enjoy sleeping you will sure get things done!

There is a lot of great advice in this thread from great warriors. The only thing I would add is that you should use this thread to help you choose your niche:

    Best Niche Research Guide Ever

Also, it is rare that keywords/SEO are going to make you money in the time frame you want, especially if you choose one of the "Big 4" niches.

Cool Ken, really proud of you!

Check out Google trends and amazon to get some killer ideas for hungry markets. The more products in the niche, the hungrier it is!

As others have said you're off to a great start Ken, and I wish you the best of luck! Another suggestion I would throw out there is to start a blog where you keep track of your progress... kind of like a personal journal. It will help you see how far you have progressed, and it would be a good way to get into the "making money" niche if you ever decide to go that route, or better yet to build your own "personal brand" that aligns with your USP.

Ken i think you have a solid marketing plan down packed. Make sure you come up with a KILLER free marketing campaign tho. And if you are going to use advertising (in particular PPC)... use it to test out a squeeze page. This will let you know if you need to redesign your squeeze page or keep it the way it is. You will also want to test driving people straight to your sales letter page. If you can break even (at the least), you're in good shape, and you should continue to do PPC to gain more new customers for free. And as we all know... 80% of your total business profits will come from sales from repeat customers. So get to testing!

Wow, some great responses here. Looks like I have a plan of action now. So I have some homework to do.

Scott Skinner, thanks for the advice and direction.

Ryan Milligan, thanks I will do just that to keep some sort of record.

Mike Tucker, I will take a look at that, thanks.

Paulie Ciara, wow, thanks for that tip....

IJohnson, wow.....now thats a lot of info there. Have some reading to do..thanks Iris

Mo Sheikh, thanks, I will do my best to keep track of my efforts.

Randal Magwood, can't say anything is solid at this point. But I am willing to try....thanks

TO all of you who have responded, thanks. I feel a little more inspired knowing that I am thinking in the right direction. I have even printed out my plan above so I have a reminder to what and where I am going.

Although I hope to make my first dollar in 44 days, I know I have a lot to do.

I am still kinda in shock with the responses (THANKS!!), Iris wow thats a thread......

Whoohooo.......where the hell is that Yellow Brick Road.......I'm out......

You're one of the few newbies who has a plan. Congratulations are in order for that!

Just a quick suggestion, get your own hosting and domain name. Alternatively, get a domain and use one of the free hosting services available. The only problem is, their up-time is not so reliable, so paid hosting is better.

If you're strapped for cash, take some time and offer services at warriors for hire or any other places like iWriter, vWorker.... Use the cash to pay for your domain and hosting (get hosting for a year, it's cheaper and you'll have peace of mind without worrying about renewals).

Remember, when you own the site, you can sell it off in the future and get some cash to grow your business further. Good luck to you!

I'm sure you have all the answers you need.. After being online for some time you must of ammassed a descent library of information. Within all that hard drive clutter lies a goldmine of info that will most likely tell you the same thing over and over again.

    You can do it!

    Good Things!!!
