How to Fiverr?

Well I wouldn't buy that gig and here is why:

If you make sales, my link will be among many others.
5$ is too much just for a link when I know there are better gigs.
The avatar tells something about the gig. Put something describing your gig, in your case something regarding linking, seo etc.

5 dollar is too less for getting a PR2 homepage backlink i suppose. I will put something more describing next time

Try offering people YouTube views/Likes or something. Just get those through exchange programs like "Youlikehits" then sell them on...

Actually, there is a lot of gold to be found on fiverr, both as a seller as well as a customer. If you look only at backlinking and IM in general, you will find a huge amount of lazy folks, trying to make a few easy dollars. That's to be expected from the IM related gigs! If you look at other kinds of gigs, you will find a lot of value.
I know people who made 50k on fiverr as a seller, and they are not amateurs.

One thing that always works well is article translation. If you speak a second language, just put up a gig to translate up to 500 words from English to the 2nd language. Don't be lazy when doing it! It's a bit tedious, but certainly worth it in the beginning.

I'm a Pakistani, i speak Urdu (my native language), English and some other native languages. so i guess i can translate English to Urdu pretty well for those marketers willing to deliver their message to Pakistani people

Yea I don't do anything related to link building on Fiverr for my money site..

That link building and SEO niche is pretty darn competitive.. Seem that the people on the front page are the ones doing all original stuff. Crazy video testimonials and so forth..

Not my cup of tea..

Sit back and think of something original.. You never know where it can go..

With fiverr.com gigs, you have to have a unique selling position or something to make you stand out from the crowd.
Maybe big time bonuses, faster delivery etc.

Upload a video to your gig - it will improve your ranking in fiverr's search result.
Also, you mention here that it is a homepage backlink, whereas in the gig you make no mention of it (someone reading your gig may think that the backlink will be in a random page of your site instead of the homepage). And as others have mentioned, link to your site so that prospective buyers can see where their link will be placed.
