Noob question about the use of Fiverr

Hi Warriors,

This is my first post here. I'm brand new and looking to start a net based business. My question right now is about Fiverr

My question is, why do Fiverr posters claim to get thousands of links for just $5?
What exactly is the economics behind that?

Also, if I could build so many links, why would I sell it as a dirt cheap service to someone else when I could boost my own website with those links?

Sorry if this sounds too basic but I do hope someone could explain this to a noob.

Thanks

Sometimes the quality of the links isn't the greatest. Some are better than others. In most all cases they are not doing it manually and just have a tool that creates the links.

A lot of the people selling links like that on fiverr use programs like senuke to get thousands of links quickly and because they can do it quickly with not too much effort it's easy for them to complete a gig like that over and over again to as many people that order it.

Yeah, basically they are selling spam for $5. The problem with this is a person could actually get penalized for using spammy tactics to game the search engines.

They use something like Scrapebox to blast links. You need an autoapprove blog list. So most fiverr sellers probably use spammed-to-death blogs for their customers, and save the good ones (i.e. lower outbound links) for themselves.
