They say they are interested but never reply after that

I had my fiverr gig on Fiverr set up and forgotten it. Then one guy send my a mail on fiverr saying,

Hi I wish to hire the services of a VA to take care of my forum posting duties. You will make up a part of my team of assistants. I have other assistants involved in the technical duties of my business.
You must be fluent in English writing and grammar, be semi knowledgeable on aspects of Internet Marketing, use only original content on posts, be able to start new threads and maintain existing threads while keeping the "conversation" going.
The idea here is to build my reputation through forum posting on a high profile IM forum. I want to be seen as a "conversationalist" who inputs good useful content on the forum. The information contained in the posts must be very accurate.
I will start with 5-6 forum posts in existing thread(s) each day and start one new thread on any IM topic you choose every three weeks.
This is only a start and I will have other tasks coming up in the very near future. Can you perform these duties to my requirements? If so what would this cost me?
Cheers Steev
And I replied him

Hi,
Thanks a lot for contacting me. I have no problem in my English writing and grammar. As for Internet Marketing knowledge, I have been learning Internet Marketing since 2011 and have bought a few books about IM.
Yes, I can help you perform these task. As for the cost, I can help you do it for $5 per 3 hour when you buy this gig. If you don't want to hire me, through Fiverr, It is fine to as Fiverr takes one dollar from me. I will be your VA for a long term
Regards,
Tenzho

After that, 3 days had passed, he did not contact me nor order my gig.

Another person send me a mail

Hey I like your gig and plan on ordering.
Until then...later.
- Tony
He did not contact me or order my gig after that.

What is going on? Is this people planning on making me happy for a few day and make me depress?

Ummm....correct me if I'm wrong, but 2011 could be construed as "less than 2 months."

And "bought a few books about IM" does zero for me in convincing me you know what you're talking about.

Methinks you need to position yourself better.

Do you have a website to which you can point prospective customers to "sell" for you, ie, it shows all the achievements you've done, all the blog posts in which you share your knowledge, etc.etc.etc.?

That might help just a wee bit.....

    Good luck!

Normally I don't comment on someone's English skills. And your English is quite good and perfectly understandable. However, if someone is looking for a VA fluent in English writing and grammar, they will be turned off by the many errors in your response. That's probably why you never heard back from that person.

Don't worry, there will be other buyers who have different requirements.

And just so you know, it's perfectly normal to get a lot of people making inquiries and then disappearing off the face of the earth.

      I agree with this.

I don't know about the second guy, of course, but I think you probably lost the first guy with your response. It makes you sound like a beginner, really, and the English isn't good enough for blog commenting on someone's behalf.

Blog commenting is a difficult gig, for attracting customers. It may seem paradoxical, but actually you need much better English for blog commenting than you do for article writing, because with article writing the client gets to check over your work before using it, whereas with blog commenting, you're representing him and forming his online image without his first seeing what you're doing. (Which is why I never employ anyone to do blog commenting for me!).

So, I'm wishing you well, but naturally wondering whether there might be easier gigs for you ...

As a project manager of a VA services company, I can tell you these things happen all the time. We get a lot of emails of potential clients but when we reply, we oftentimes never hear from them again.

Just continue to promote your services, even outside of Fiverr, and you will get your serious client. Good luck!

Hmmmm yes your English and grammar is OK, but your response tended to wander off a little. It didn't grab me by the nads and shout "I'm the best!"

Internet marketing in whichever respect is selling and you didn't sell yourself enough.

Imagine it like this, you are not just representing this client, you are being him.
