Is it a good idea to make the product's name a hashtag?

I am deeply into marketing my product on Twitter and now I came up with something new.
I will be organizing an online Twitter "event". It will be a big conversation with lots of (planned) participants and a unique hashtag that will be used by everyone who wants to be part of the talk. (The conversation will be a debate or something similar)
Now, the goal of this is to get my product's name out there. So I thought I would use it's name as the hashtag for the conversation.

Maybe this sounds a bit wild, but I think it is worth a try.

So do you think this could work out? If no, why? If yes, why?

And also could you give some tips on organizing this "event"?

    Heck why not?
    As you say it's worth a try.
    That's what marketing is all about. Trying things and testing them. If they don't work, you know then, and move on to the next thing.
