Have You Got A Plan?

Well do you?

I mean a really detailed plan.

Simply saying "I am going to make money on-line" is great, but it's not really a plan.

Saying "I'm going to make money online doing CPA offers" is better, but it's still not a detailed plan.

I'm talking about a plan that gets you so laser focused, that if you just stick to it, and keep executing it, you will have no choice but to succeed.

Here's my plan for the month of February:
Until the end of February, the only thing I am working on is:

Creating My Next WSO Product
This includes creating videos, pdf documentation, graphics, sales copy and building a JV list. If I stick to a tight schedule, I can get this released at the end of the month.

Growing My List
I plan to do at least 4 adswaps this month which will drive more subscribers to my list

SEO - Backlinks
The core of my online business are my Amazon review sites.
These are pretty much looking after themselves, but every single day I build 1 to 2 high PR links to each of my sites. This ensures they stay on top of Google, which means targeted traffic, which means sales.

So my point is this.

In the last 48 hours I have stumbled upon two awesome courses.
One is a traffic course and the other is a CPA course.
In the past I would have signed up for both of them and diverted all my attention towards them.
Perhaps I would have learnt something, but my point is my 3 projects above would have fallen to the side.

It took all my will-power not to jump into these courses, because they look amazing, but for the month of February, I am staying focused on the above 3 projects.

I will definitely get around to looking into those courses because they have been put together by internet marketers who know what they are doing, and they will help me expand my business, but not until I have got through the month of February.

So do you have a detailed plan, or are you floating around day to day?

If you do, feel free to share (obviously without the confidential details :) )

Yes, a very detailed plan.

I am working on three projects at the moment. Each one is blocked into a certain number of hours per day that I spend working on them.

Works for me and I don't get bored :)

That's what I am talking about. Laser focus.
In-fact I am actually going to take my plan one step further and allocate time blocks to them as well! Great stuff.

I must admit focus is not my strong point, but working on it. At the moment my main focus is on the website in my signature below, then a WSO launch and build & build & build that list :->

And therein lies the problem

There is so much great stuff out there (and trash too of course) that it is extremely easy to get side tracked. I think of myself as pretty disciplined but I DO believe if you are doing some of the more mundane work you actually subconsciously want to be side tracked to relieve the boredom.

The best technique I have found is to do smallish chunks regularly but the key is to be consistent.

For example if you had a 15 hour task to do (as I recently did!), that you really do not want to do, but HAVE to do break it down into bitesize chunks.

Do 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. The key is to make sure you do it EVERY day consistently. Eventually you will get through the task. Even if you miss one of the hours make sure you do the other!

It works - try it! ;)

Re: Have You Got A Plan?

I agree unquestionably about having a plan of action. I like to write everything down and make a list daily. I spend one hour on emails, 2 hours on learning new stuff (courses) 2-3 hours on research. The rest of the day implementing what I've learned and figuring out how to do certain things. I like to have a structured plan, It's rigid I know, but I inherited this from my father, I'm very much disciplined. And that makes it easy for me. Beginning with the end in mind and what steps need to be taken by me to get there.

You need to have at least two plans focus on one and if it doesn't pan out you have another plan in place

My plan is basically just building a huge list. Theres nothing more secure than having a very large list.

Re: Have You Got A Plan?

Ive planned out the next couple of months and listed down what I want to acheive, I got a new project on the go now which I have just started. I already have files filled with research about the market and things to look out for / exploit in that market, I am only 2 days in. I sorted out my linking structure and began to develop tyes within the market place :) not bad so far, hopefully all goes well in the end.

I am still working out a laser focused plan, but I do have ideas of what I want to accomplish. Most of my goals are similar to yours: Launch my first WSO, build a list, and create microniche adsense blogs that rank on Google.

Yes I have also found that this works really well. For example if I will work for one hour (say 10am - 11am) without looking at the Warrior forum, facebook or anything else.
Then I'll take an hour off and watch some tv, or log onto the Warrior forum etc.

Then from 1pm-2pm I will do another hour.
Breaking it down like that definitely helps. You will actually be amazed what you can achieve if you just work on one thing for a solid hour, without opening other websites.

I don't have a plan - I have a strategy.

It's the tactics that are a pain in the **(censored)**

Re: Have You Got A Plan?

The main thing is that you have to do. before you think. cause if so many time is consumed in planning your luck will be gone. and the market is getting harder and harder every day :)
so instead of too much planning you just start :)

That's a great post! I actually have a plan in mind, or quite a few for some projects, but I'm going to sit down, open Notepad/Word and write them down, step by step, so it's easier and achievable. Thanks!

Yea when I started writing a 'To Do' list out each day in notepad, I found that it definitely helped me stay focused and I started achieving a lot more.

I may be crazy, but I dare to be different. I have blinders on and am focussing all my efforts on my blog. I believe it is a unique and better idea than traditional home based businesses use, and when it gets discovered...I envision major changes in that industry.

But, I could be wrong.

good point! i have a to do list, and the first thing i do is to complete at least 50% of them

SamuelUherek 13th February 2012 05:11 AM

Re: Have You Got A Plan?

I have three projects going on too. I do nothing else. It's tough not to spend hours just searching the web, but when I look at the board in front of me and see the goals I set to achieve in a month, I close everything, take a deep breath and continue to be productive.

Laser focus is the key to grow quickly.

Re: Have You Got A Plan?

Always keep a "Top 3" item list on my desktop, with dedicated chunks of time for each every day, until I complete it, when it moves to the "success" column, which I review each night for self-congratulation~~reinforces the fire in my belly.

My primary question every day is "Is this the highest and best use of my time in this moment?" Can't always answer in the affirmative, as there are still mundane tasks that have to get done, but helps keep me focused on the important rather than the urgent.

Always a plan, and always a backup plan. And the ability to change the plan if it needs modifications.
