Concrete methods to monetize certain sites?

I'm wondering if there are concrete methods to monetize certain sites. For example, for a blog site, is there only ONE way to monetize that will work? Or for another site, adsense the ONLY way to go for any success? I know you can monetize with any method, but I'm guessing there are unwritten rules that exist due to success and failure. I'm still trying to figure out how to monetize a site I have planned and with so many, I'm not certain which one to use. Now, I know list building is crucial; do some of you rely solely on that for some of your sites? Is there a resource I can use to figure out what besting monetizing method to use with all different sites?

Yes, you can monetize with any method, as you mention above. The trick is to find out what that is - your very question.

Every site has different variables, so there is no single answer for every type of site.

Consider 5 authority blog sites, each with 1000 visitors per day. Should they all be using the same method to monetize?

    Of course not.

Maybe one gets traffic from Facebook, another from a well established list, one from SEO, one from PPC and one from a mix of traffic. Just getting different traffic sources is enough to make successful monetization models highly variable.

Then consider the sites themselves... Each site has different quality writing, better/worse design and layout, better or worse conversions for various monetization efforts.

Is there a resource you can use to figure out the best way?

Yes, and you might not like it! :-) First, apply the method you think will work best based on research and your gut. Apply that. If it fails, try something different. Even when you find what works, you still will need to test new things to try and improve...

It all depends on a niche you are in and then you
create surrounding on a page according to that.

For example I am Social Media Manager and it's I
don't manage all sites from my clients the same way.
And you need to test that to know what flies and
    what don't.

There are tons of variables to look after, age of your
    audience, deep pockets, sex,...

One mens garbage is gold to another.

Stick to the basics. Build a large list and promote your products (or affiliate products) through email. If you have a blog, encourage visitors to subscribe to your blog, then lead them back to your blog after each post that you make. Also test Adsense positions on your site, and consider adding Amazon affiliate products on your blog also.

As mentioned above, it all depends on different factors.

But one thing you should have in mind before building any websites is a clear purpose of it. For example, you wouldn't build a site and trying to monetize it after you get enough visitors to begin thinking about monetizing. This way, you probably won't be successful in 90%.

My point is, decide what the website should be about and what monetizing method you want to use before even buying a domain name.

For learning the money-making methods from different sites (like affiliate, service...) search this forum and you will find enough info to have an idea.
