What Makes a Mini Niche Site?

Hi WF -

We talk a lot about "Authority Sites" and "Mini Niche Sites."

How do you define these?

My idea of a mini niche site would be:

- 4 Static pages: About, Privacy, Aff Disclaimer, Contact
- 10 blog posts, each keyword optimized

Is that what you all think? More blog posts? Less?

Interested to hear your thoughts....

Generally a mini niche site will have less articles, probably no more than 5. An authority site would of course have more - maybe one or two a week for as long as the site exists.

Are sites with only 4-5 articles (blog posts) still able to rank in today's search engine world?

And.... is adding more than that bad? Other than taking more time?

4-5 article posts can rank well, if they're good articles, in a small niche. Like a sub-sub niche. Not weight loss, but maybe weight loss diet cookies, for example.

As for building an authority site around a Clickbank product, don't. The vendor could cancel the product and your site is then useless. Could make a small site with several articles on it about the product, though.

If it's a general IM authority site, it should offer either a) advice, b) solutions on how to do this or that, c) discuss products in the IM niche... or something like that. I would say you could put them all together and offer a little bit of everything, but that may be confusing for readers. It's best to narrow down and have your visitors be highly targeted.

This is what I was thinking, thanks for clarifying that for me. I'll probably do this after I make around 10 more Mini-Niche sites. Thanks.

I would suggest you to start an authority site as soon as you can. It take time to build it to something valuable and you can always do those mini sites along the way.

Ask yourself a question, do you want to be an authority one day? If yes, begin to build it right away.
