The Ultimate Squeeze Page

Hi all! So i've recently set everything up for my website (FTP, Hosting, domain, etc.) and I'm coming close to finally launching my first niche site. I'm pretty pumped.

Here's where im at though. What makes a great squeeze page?

Examples, places to go, or any quick tips are greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,
Pete

What makes a great squeeze page is one that converts, which could be different in different niches. I give away high converting squeeze page templates that were given to me and had been time tested. So far they have worked in every niche I'm selling in.

However, it isn't just the template. It is the copy you put into the template.

Once I had one that wasn't converting too well...I only changed a few words of copy to be more action type and it started converting real well.

So the main thing is test, tweak, test, tweak unti you get the results you want.

Having something that really is of great value that the person hitting the page actually wants.

The more they want it, the less the overall style of the page matters - Focus on the reason people usually opt-in - To get your "feebie" - and make that so awesome that it's a no brainer for them to opt-in and get it.

My highest converting squeeze page literally just had a small title, a picture of the ebook, and the optin form.

This worked for me as the eBook image (ecover) stated what the ebook was about but did not give too many details. It made people want to know more and worked off of thier curiousity to see what was on the "other side" of the optin form.

The more I actually have written on my squeeze pages the lower my conversion rates have gone. You only haev a few seconds to grab their attention so I have an appealing looking ecover, short power title, and the optin form. This had always worked like a charm for me.

I think a lot of focus now is on video SPs and with good reason.

People (well me at least haha) look at the length of the page , if it's too long they'll scroll to the bottom to see the price.

With video you can engage your clients, enrapture them, and they tend to stay on the page a lot longer.

Great squeeze pages do the job.

    They get the signups.

I've had success with short squeeze pages with just one killer headline and one killer 'sign up here' button.

Are you trying simply to build your list or sell your product? Either action has different selling points.

It really depends on the niche and the type of traffic that you're sending to it.

As a good place to start, keep things very clean and simple with a good headline in Tahoma font in red. Quotation marks around this have also been shown to improve conversions in many cases.

Now add some bullet pionts outlining the BENEFITS of your freebie ebook and include a graphic of the book cover.

Also, make sure your opt-in box is above the fold and your links for privacy policy etc are very small, in light grey and right down at the bottom.

Now start testing different headdlines using Google website optimizer as this is what makes the biggest difference.

For even higher conversions, consider replacing the benefits with a video.

Engage the viewer, make it clear what you are offering, make it clear what they need to do.

Everything else is just testing and tweaking to make it more great.

  • I'd say one of them most important things is having great graphics. If your page looks cheap and nasty, no one is going to opt-in, that's for sure.

You should be upfront and concise on what you are trying to solicit from your visitors. One of the best practice and apparently works best for me is give them the benefits in bulletted or numbered format.

I designed a wp theme that really works and converts well it's called DynaThemes

I've tested a few different squeeze page templates out, and mucked around with my copy. It's all a case of testing, see what works better and what doesn't, then stick with what works, and improve on it...

I have found videos are a good way to engage viewers, it builds a good relationship right of the bat with visitors, as they can hear your voice, and listen to what you have to say.

I've also seen a lot of people stating that it's a good idea to have your opt-in form above the fold on your site, as a lot of people tend to opt-in for things without paying too much attention to the copy. BUT, these are all things you need to test.

    hope this helps,

    Jack.

A few more tips to add
Ensure Your Best BENEFIT is clearly stated in the headline
Use Bullet Points to emphasize the other benefits
Adding a product image WILL increase your opt-in rate
Adding your image and signature is also effective
Finally, placing another opt-in form at the bottom also helps]

Another thing, using exit pop-ups that redirect to another freebie has
increased my conversions by at least 20%

Dann, you seem to know alot about this, so is this good?

75% opt in rate and a 50% click rate with a 33% sales so what I'm saying is for example

      100 traffic = 75 opt ins = 37 clicks = 12 sales

Also, I'm not a techy, I just put up a basic site, how would I do the re-direct to another freebie as an exit pop up.
