Thought I would start an interesting thread about Pay Per Click and Facebook Ads.

In your opinion, what's better?

What have you go the best results from?

In facebook there is also PPC... I think you are saying that if you should go with facebook ads or google adwords.....

Well if that's the matter you are the best judge.... I suggest you to select a 10$ budget for each campaign i.e on facebook and on Adwords too...

Then when your campaign ends you will have a better idea which gave you best Return On Investment (ROI) and you are free to go with it

I hope this ain't hard to do and to judge.....

    Cheers....

In my past efforts I've noticed amazing results for impressions with Facebook but low clicks. I believe people aren't interested in clicking on ads in Facebook. But it's a great way to get your brand or logo seen. Be smart about how your ad is designed and you should get some great exposure.

I have used PPC for a very short time and it was Good. but i have never used Face book ads.
but i think both of them are good. Adword PPC is just awesome if you are lucky enough.

    Hi,

Both can be good if designed correctly. However I find I prefer facebook ads, as it is easier to build a fanbase in my opinion. Did you know you can advertise your page on facebook and have a like button in your ad.

People seem to find it easier just to click like rather than click on an actual add and once they click like your updates go into their news feed.

Well Facebook is a type of Pay Per Click traffic so I'm not sure what your question really means. What other PPC provider are you trying to compare it against?

I agree. I recently ran a facebook campaign with some free credits I had and got about a 25% opt in rate with a couple people signing up to my affiliate marketing business. It was way cheaper per click than adwords and you can target the exact words that people are interested in.

I still don't think it's the cheapest and most appropriate advertising venue for every business, but there can be some success with it.

Here's a tip. Go buy a godaddy domain (I bought a $6.99 .org recently), and they will give you $50 facebook ad credit, $100 adwords credit, and $50 bing credit. Nothing like receiving $200 worth of advertising credit for $6.99. I'm thinking about buying a few more domains just for the free credits!

I was under the impression you can only use these ad credit vouchers once per facebook account. Has this changed?

You can get one voucher $50 per one FB account and later on another $25 for same account.
But no one says that your wife can not get another voucher on hers account, and your aunt, brother, sister, mother even cat(LOL) if you know where I am

It all depends on offers/affiliate products you are trying to promote, or you are
    gonna promote your business there?
With FB you can get really cheap clicks and very targeted people but you have
to know hoe to get money from them because, FB is social platform and people
are there to play, interact with friends, get a date, ...
With Google traffic you can get direct sales faster.
If you could provide more info about meaning of your promotions we can advice
    you better.

I go with FB ads. But I guess it really depends on the "social aspect" of what you're promoting. For instance, most people wouldn't like a page for all their friends to see about "genital warts"

I think it really depends on what you are trying to sell.

If you are trying to sell teenager clothes, ppc works better than fb ads.
If you are trying to sell an app or fb app, fb obviously works better.

AB testing till you get cps.

I've been using FB ads recently and you have to tweak it a little differently than Adwords. FB users mindset is not always in the "buying" mode so creativity is key in getting them to take action and convert.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that, but I prefer Facebook Ads. I have tried it long ago and still, safe to say, am convinced with the result that I got. My ROI hasn't gone so great before, given the fact that I'm new to this.

I also suggest that you go with Hassan's post. It's really quite a logical and most practical way to have results, though it might take some time. But sure enough, you'll get the result that you want

Since the best pay per click (or online ad) results are highly dependent on testing and tracking of ads, keywords, and landing pages, the better advertising platforms provide good tools for doing this. Based on this, paid search, with Google Adwords leading the pack, is superior to FaceBook traffic.

However, "better" is relative. What's more important is to roll out successful ad campaigns to as many ad media as you can afford, as long as the ROI is good.

Not ideal to be too dependent on one source of traffic.
