How To Monetize This Site?

I have a forum site, VisualBasicScript.com . It gets 4000 UVs per day but I only make $ 250 / Mo from Adsense. That is incredebly low.

How to monetize it?. Sugeestions please. Thx.

    My Adsense placement is already optimized , yes it is not user friendly but I make more using this placement

    What is your (or your readers) biggest complaint about visual basic?

    Create a product that solves that problem and sell to your readers for $29, $49, even $99 (depending on what problem you solved and at what cost / time savings to a buyer).

    You're making $2 per thousand on your adsense. That's not terrible, and probably all you can expect.. maybe another $.75 per thousand if you're lucky. What you need is MORE TRAFFIC.

    Drive NEW memberships. Get them active in discussions. Challenge someone that if they have a question about VB that nobody can answer, they get a $50 prize. Offer $25 for the most interesting post of the month.

    Do product reviews of products you can sell as an affiliate, invite a discussion of the product, and have a banner ad for it.

    Heck, if your forum full of vb programmers, I have a product we can JV on. It's perfect for VB programmers. I'll send you a PM.

      Dan,

      The idea is good , I am really new to list building, I have another forum site toyotafans.net . There is traffic to this forum site but the traffic is not targetted i.e most people come because they have problem with their Toyota vehicles . Most people who come to this site are not car enthusiasts , they don't modify their cars.

      I can put an email capture form for list building. But do you think it's worth it? Can I make money out of it?

      Second, I am not a writer,I am not even a native speaker of English. How do I get ideas for content to send to my list?.

      My initial idea is :

      Subscribe to Toyota related magazines

      More suggestions/ideas please.

        You could try to monetize your forum website by adding paid upgrades to your forum website. An example of a paid upgrade is to offer your users a choice of paying X amount each month for zero advertisements on the forum.
