What is frustrating the hell out of you the most in IM?

Hey guys what's up!

Today I'm asking you a simple question, what is bugging the hell out of you in the IM industry? It can be about products people sell, about your general IM efforts.

Some examples:
Industry Frustration
I hate it when I buy a product and then have absolutely no support afterwards.

Personal frustration
I absolutely hate that I don't have a passive income with my business.
Or
I'm pissed off that customers hesitate so much before buying!

Let's face it, the Internet Marketing is way better than having a job, but what problems do you have doing IM?

EDIT: So we don't get too negative and feel bad, add to your comment the thing you love the most about IM!

Be happy, be successful,
~ JoeDRL

I don't like that I am not making any money online right now. I know the internet is a great way to make money and have a passive stream of income however I don't know exactly how to do it so I can make money online. I would like to have a mentor that could counsel me on how to make money online. It would ge great to have a teacher that would guide me in the world of IM. I would pay my teacher with my future profits of making money online. I like how I know what I want to do for a living, which is make money online however I don't like how I don't know exactly how to make money online.

Thanks for the opportunity to connect here with you all

As a marketer, I really have very little to complain about. I have a huge mailing list, high pagerank, plenty of traffic, and a well rounded product offering.

As a buyer, I have a difficult time filtering through the BS to find worthwhile products. I know they exist, but I would love to find a better way to identify the especially good offers, and I might be more likely to buy.

Google and their constant algorhythm changes. Seems like they are continually working against us. SEO is getting to be a losging game with Google changing the rules on a whim.

I know what google is trying to do, but in the long run, they hurt everyone, not just the spammy sites they're trying to devalue. It costs legitimate sites as well and thus the user. Because even legitimate sites have to perform some kind of seo to make it to the top of the pile.

And with all the changes I don't think they've improved search results (their claimed mission) at all. I still get more junk than relevance when I do a search... another reason I'm frustrated.

I hate it, when you purchase a product a a low price and then you have several different OTOs with higher price tickets. It looks like the product won't be as efficient or even work at all without the other recommended products. I just want to be happy with my one purchase. Perhaps there should not be OTOs in this forum????

Probably driving traffic. Google adwords got very strict on what kind of landing pages they accept. It's gotten so difficult to actually drive targeted and cheap traffic to conventional sales pages, especially as an affiliate.

You can always spend money, it will come, it will go, but you can never get back time.

Time wasting is my biggest bug-bear. Whether it be waiting for someone to do things, reading a piece of rubbish ebook (god I hate research time sometimes) or even as far as taking time to sleep. Man it bugs me.

People get mad too often while starting in IM. They hear tales of people who wake up at 9:00am on a weekday, eat breakfast, take their family to the park, watch some tv, eat dinner and somehow in the midst of all that, they made $200.

People need to realize that you can't just go to godaddy, buy a domain name and instantly check your bank account to see "the day's earnings." There IS work involved. I didn't make a dime from IM until about 3-6 months into the whole process.

It took a lot of patience and work. Just jump on this forum every chance you get to learn more and you'll eventually find your place in this land we call Internet Marketing.

I still work a full-time job but at least I have passive income that helps me and my family lead a very comfortable life. If I want fast food for lunch, I don't check my bank account, I go and order a #1 at McDonalds. And you know what? I might even decide to large-size it.

Patience > Research > Work > Residual Income. That's it. Stop getting frustrated because there's no excuse.

Mine is also definitely Google followed a close second by Bing =)

Google for their scary amount of power, their non-backwards compatible algorithm changes and the blatant hypocrisy in many of their policies and statements. Bing for sucking and not freaking stepping up to the plate when they could legitimately make a dent...Don't you realize that it's only gonna get harder with Google+?!?!?!

It pisses me off that you can spend 6 months on a website and the next day #BOOM...GONE#

It pisses me off that i decided to create an email list from a website that was getting 300 visitors a day and rising, and as soon as i set up my auto responder #BOOM...ANOTHER ONE GONE#

It pisses me off that both websites have unique content, quality links and provides mostly FREE information, but, what pisses me off more than that is not having a bloody clue why it happened.

Ahh..if ya don't laugh, you'll end up sitting in a corner with the Kleenex and razor blades. The joys of not having a regular 9 - 5.

More and more people seem to be regurgitating what others regurgitate and fewer people are bringing their own ideas and individuality to the party (Internet Marketing).

Everyone is looking for someone to follow, pioneers are growing extinct. But they're needed to advance the industry. Soon all that will be left will be me-too products and everyone trying to sell the same products to other sellers.

Hey guys you all have great answers, thanks for that!
This post isn't meant to bring a lot of negativity, simply to vent off our frustrations and realize that IM is still like anything in life, it has its negative points.

Thanks for your input, at the same time it gives me a basis as to what to do in my products to satisfy the customers.

What frustrates me the most is the fact that you can buy 5 WSOs that look promising and then you get PUMPED each time only to realize it is rehashed material and you can't really make that much money from it.

But I LOVE the fact that you can make a whole lot more money in a lot less time than working 9-5 at a job!

Let's all add something we love about IM so we don't get too negative here!

    Be happy, be successful,

You have a very negative view of internet marketing sloanjim.

Not every WSOs are bullsh*it and some are VERY valuable and VERY helpful. You can sell valuable products that will actually help people and make them accomplish their dreams while still making money. That's the heart of any business. There is absolutely no wrong in this, it's a win-win.

Also, internet marketing doesn't revolve around the internet marketing niche, you can sell information on what you love and that's a GREAT thing!

And then again you can do internet marketing connecting buyers with sellers with SEO. You can also offer services.

It only depends on you if your internet marketing efforts is destructive or constructive!

Not selling money making dreams to newbies, selling valuable information about making money with the great medium that is the internet to people seeking that information.

SOmething isn't bad nor good, it's the usage of that thing that is bad or good. Internet marketing can be a WONDERFUL thing that enriches other people's life just as it can rip them off and put them in debt.

    Frustrations:

    Industry
The perception that making it online is somehow going to happen instantly or without any work. This is a marketplace and, just like a brick-and-mortar operation, you've got to put in the time and effort to see results or your competitors will eat you alive.

    Personal
I'm somewhat frustrated that networking isn't easier. As we gain more and more access to others, we become less and less inclined to actually talk to them! It makes building a network of contacts from scratch a real challenge.

    What I love:

    Industry
I came from the offline sales world after moving to a new city and having to start from scratch with my business again. I love that the next time I move to a new city, I won't have to uproot my whole business again! That's huge for me

    Personal
I love that I can make my own hours and that I can work form virtually anywhere in the world with a laptop and an internet connection. It's given me the freedom to help out family and friends a lot more than I could have with a "9-5" and still not sacrifice my work schedule. I also get to volunteer in the community a lot more than I did when I worked for someone else... another huge bonus for me

    Cheers,
    -Adrian

I hate how stupid people are.

People come up to me and complain that they want to run a particular kind of business, and I say they need to learn some particular set of skills.

But they don't want to. They want a product that will show them step by step.

So I tell them "here's a really good one from a guy who got rich." And they say "I'm not buying that, those gurus are all full of crap."

So I tell them "here's one I wrote; I'm not rich and I'm no guru, but this is what I've found works for me." And they say "I'm not buying that, you aren't rich and famous enough."

So I tell them "here's one from someone well-known in the industry who's practicing what he preaches and making a bunch of money from the system he teaches, not just from teaching the system." And they say "I'm not buying that, it's too expensive and you just want an affiliate commission."

So I shrug and say "I guess you'll have to get a job," and they get all smug and say "see, I knew this internet marketing thing didn't really work."

    Stupidity should be painful.

But do you know what I love about IM? All that stuff works. You can go learn those skills, and they work. Or you can buy the guru product, and it works. Or you can buy my product, and it works. Or you can buy the other product, and it works. Pretty much everything works, if you use it right and stick with it until it begins producing results.

There's hardly a person on this forum who doesn't have enough information on their hard drive to succeed. Most ignorance is willful.
