Hey Warriors,

I know that some of you already know this trick. But for the ones that don't. I made a 2 minute video that shows you how to backup your entire website In under 60 seconds. You will be backing up every file and folder In your public html directory In under 60 seconds flat.

    Hi Terry

if you are like 99% of the warriors and are using Wordpress on your site, then that method doesn't work.
You will be missing the posts that are stored in the database.

For Wordpress you need to make an SQL-Dump before zipping up all files or you get something like BackupBuddy and let that thing do all the Backupstuff.

    Chris

Hi Chris, I have had Wordpress Installed on my server for years. This method works great with WordPress to. You simply have to login to phpMyAdmin and export your WP database separately. It's simple to export a database, be it Wordpress or any other type of database.

I prefer not to use software programs to backup my site. I don't like letting 3rd party programs access my server. I have been backing up my site the way I show In the video for the past couple of years and I prefer to do It that way. It's a much more secure way of backing up a site.

      Take care Chris.

As stated above, not a good plan if you have a database as well. (ex. wordpress, phpld, vbulletin, joomla)

Could you make a video showing how to restore the database and files?

    Thanks

      Isn't it obvious?

Instead of download you click/use "upload", for files
In database, instead of Export you click Import.

If you are doing a full restore of everything, my advice to you would be to take the full home backup you made in cpanel and get it to your host admin. With root access you can do it in just a couple of clicks. Do you have root access?

It is very easy to do from Cpanel, make a complete backup which backups your entire "account", that is your site(s), files + databases. For wordpress, i actually like the plugin "backupbuddy" a lot too since it goes faster than making cpanel backups.
