YouTube Partner Question

Is there a rule about how long you must have had your channel for?

Could you have made it 2 weeks ago then still get accepted?

Thanks.

To answer your question...I think it may be possible. But your video should have a number of views.

As a member of the YouTube Google Partner program, I think the most important thing is valuable content. Valuable original content.

From my understanding there are approximately only 20,000 YouTube Google Partners. And as a Google Partner you have the choice of putting adsense ads or preview ads on all of your videos.

I have seen Partners accepted on videos that had a few hundreds views.

In this case valuable content is king. And you must play by ALL of Google's rules.
No scams, by tring to create artificial views and subscribers.
And using only original content (or content that you have the rights to) for all aspects of the video. You must have the rights to the background music that you use as well.

I think the rules have changed. A number of years ago I had a video that had over 50,000 views. I was sure there was no way Google could ignore those kind of numbers. I requested to be accepted in the Partner Program. I was surprised when Google wrote back saying they had rejected my application.

Several months later after the same video had gotten over 100,000 views, they wrote me an email asking me to join their partner program.

The cool thing is that Google has accepted all of my video channels into the Partner Program. I did not even ask to join. They wrote to me asking if I wanted to monetize those channels and become a Google Partner on those channels.

In my experience, time is not so much a deciding factor as is high quality content.

And the best thing is once you get ONE video accepted, and you are a Google Partner it is very easy to get all of your videos monetized.

As a matter of fact the first thing I see when I upload a new video is a box asking me if I want to monetize the video with ads. Many times, I say no.

The benefit for me is a total pasive income. I get paid directly into my adsense account for all of my monetized YouTube videos.

The price per click is very low. But the passive income this provides over time is amazing.

So go out and create some videos that have valuable content and just go for it!

Please let us know how you make out...

  • It use to hard to do this now it is pretty easy. Sign up for Google adsense and the loging into your Youtube account go to your setting page and then click on "Account Adsense settings" if you don't see this then you will need to upload some more videos first.

There is no way that there are only 20k youtube partners. My account with roughly 3k views was invited to be a partner.

    Ok Bitriot, I stand corrected...

I should know better than to throw out numbers like that. But I thought I just read that number somewhere..
But its great to know that you got invited to join after 3,000 views.
    What was your video about?
Do you continue to monetize your videos with adsense?
    thanks

    Thanks everybody for the replies.

I'm thinking of starting a brand new channel up focused on video tutorials on computing things like video editing, photoshop etc...

Could it make it to being a partner?

Just because your videos get monetized doesnt mean you're a youtube partner, right?

Youtube Partners get more options like being able to customize your channel page and better analytics .

I have channels monetized but Im not a Youtube Partner.

Just because you are able to monetize your videos does NOT mean you are a partner. Youtube also has an Individual Video Monetization Program.

At this moment there are 3 types of partners: full partners, individual video partners, and account monetization partners.

To become a YouTube Partner, you must meet these minimum requirements:
    • You create original videos suitable for online streaming.
    • You own or have express permission to use and monetize all audio and video content that you upload—no exceptions.
    • You regularly upload videos that are viewed by thousands of YouTube users, or you publish popular or commercially successful videos in other ways (such as DVDs sold online).
