Hi,

I have given internet marketing a try before but had very limited success. Having given up on it for a while I have decided to give it another go and have set up a site using Wordpress and linked it to my domain name.

While I have positioned the site in the IM niche I hope to develop a couple of other niche sites off my main site and would be interested to hear about the latest tools that Warriors use for niche research.

Anybody willing to share their secrets?

Dave, I really don't use anything fancy for niche research. I use Google's
keyword tool, which you can find here:

    https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Hot Trends, to see if anything is coming up I should know about.

    Google Trends

Spyfu, to see what my competition is spending on advertising.

    SpyFu

And the Google search engine itself just to see how many competing sites
there are for each keyword phrase.

I will then go to forums for each niche, various affiliate marketplaces,
like Clickbank and PayDotCom and finally Amazon to see what products
are being sold in that niche so I can get an idea of pricing and what
features these products have if I should decide to create my own.

I find that if you niche research in a methodical manner, it makes the
    process go a lot faster.

There are of course other things you can add to the above list but I have
personally found that these items work well enough for me. Naturally, you
will want to test these out, as well as other tools, for yourself to see what
kind of results you get as your mileage may vary greatly from mine.

I have to agree with John. In my post above I was only concentrating on
free resources because I didn't know how much money you had to spend,
but if you have a spare $37...get this. It is a no brainer.

I And the version I got was the prototype that isn't as loaded as this one
      is and even that rocked.

Trust John, he'd never lead you astray.

        Thanks guys.

Your advice is much appreciated. I will take some time to look at all of the above.

It is interesting to see the different approaches used. I have a small budget available so I will probably give IM Research Power Tool a try.

        Regards

        Dave
