Adsense. I know we can use in combination now. BUT can we HIGHLIGHT ADSENSE??(i.e. big arrow, etc)

this is a very strange question, and I said "big arrow" because I knew that people would actually visit my thread if I said something crazy like that.

What I had in mind was the idea of a big arrow that practically points to the adsense ads... I know that you cannot ACTUALLY say "please click my ads everyone!"

BUT

can you put bolded text above the ads that says "Advertisements" ?

I think that isn't terrible, almost how a radio talk show host says "and now for a brief commercial break"

I know that it will draw more attention to the ads (probably not much, but it will be the kind right attention), but most importantly it puts people in the mood of, yes, I am currently be advertised too.

That makes them "buyer ready" as many warriors would say. It sort of preps the lead for a sale, which is good for Adwords participants, which would make me believe it to be ok....

Thanks ahead of time to you,
Sam

How long have you had your account? Sometimes they don't even review it until months after you have been involved.. :/

I would go read the T.O.S myself, but I feel that I would never be able to read it thoroughly enough.

With google - anything viewed as an attempt to lead viewers to click on ads can be a problem.

Justifying what you want to do when you haven't read the TOS is taking a big risk - and most google bans are permanent. Something to think about.

I was going to scream NO, NO NO!, but thought I would do a little research on this first before I put in my 2 cent's worth. I'm glad I did because I learned something today.

I couldn't figure out from the Terms and Services if this was allowed, it is nearly unreadable, but I did find some clear information in the "Adsense Program Policies" page. You can find this page by clicking the "Resources" tab on your Adsense account home page, then click on the "Program Policies" link under the "Reference Links" tab on the right side of the page.

I don't want to violate G's policies by posting an excerpt of their policies here, but I can essentially paraphrase some of the cogent points.
First, you cannot under any circumstances encourage users to click the Google ads by saying things like "click the ads", "support us", or "visit these links" and so forth. This will get your account banned very quickly.

You also may not direct user attention to the ads using arrows or other graphical gimmicks. (Sorry, the Arrows are definitely out! )

You cannot use misleading labels above Google ad units such as "Favorite Sites" or "Today's Top Offers".

I was surprised however, to find that ads can be labelled " Sponsored Links" or "Advertisements." Yep, believe it or not, it's right there in "Program Policies."

This really surprised me, but you can see for yourself by clicking on the links I pointed out earlier and read the section under "Encouraging Clicks."
Hope this helps. If anyone has any different information than this, please let us know.

i dont see the benefit, i would have thought most adsense clicks would be from people who think their clicking an internal site link not an ad,

i thought most people went the other way and try to make ads blend in, not stand out

The problem is if you mislead people to click on the ads by making it seem like it's part of the actual web content, not a served advertisement.

For example, placeing images right next to ads without a clear distinction is a no no. I would probably not do the arrow, as that runs the same vein.

However, Google themselves puts the word Ads or advertisements in every single AdSense block. You're not remotely misleading anyone if you make it MORE clear that your advertising to them, so I would say that is fine. I would strongly urge you to read the TOS for yourself, regardless.
