Why not an Entertainment site ?

What you are probably asking is why a small niche website vs a huge niche website like entertainment.

2 reasons,

1. Small niches have less competition on the Internet (Google). So to dominate that niche is easier and less expensive in paid traffic since the keywords for that niche are much more affordable.

2. Smaller niche have usually longer tail keywords, that means your traffic is more targeted. If you know what you are doing and understand the mindset of that specific niche, than you'll be more effective when you write your targeted sales page and more likely to have conversions.

What if my website has 5k users a day with google adsense wont that make more $ then a small niche website? and it will be easy to run as a website just post funny pictures ?

So best for me as a newbie is to find a small niche buy some articles and learn how to do seo on that website? or stick to the funny pics blog site and do seo to that one ?

You don't have to buy articles. Create them yourself, and do SEO on your small niche site. Throw backlinks at it, maintain steady content, and drive traffic to it everyday. You should see your Adsense income/Clickbank profits grow week-by-week.

Lets say you make a huge authority site on entertainment - celebrities for example. Are your readers looking to buy something when they go to your site?

Most likely, they are looking for info on a celebrity. So what kind of ads would Google AdSense serve up that relates to that celebrity. Most likely general ads that are not super targeted.

So do you think you would get a ton of clicks with Google? Most likely not. But you could get some.

So how would you make money? You would have to have tons of traffic to get the clicks. AND those celebrity type of clicks usually have very low payouts.

Most of those big celebrity sites make money from advertisers who pay to put on ads and other means. If they have AdSense and are making money from it, they are getting a lot of traffic.

And then there is the work involved, staying on top of the celebrities, getting and paying for photos you have the rights to use etc.

Now if you look at the tremendous effort going into making money with these types of site you may be able to see why many pick different niches.

Thank you for replying , i can understand now that is easier like this now but im not sure what niche i should start doing and surely wont know how to do articles .

Yes a celebrity site would be harder.

I was speaking about a funny pictures site , im guessing that its easier there couse if you have good content people share fast via facebook and other social sites , i might be wrong im sure it will be hard to make money with both of the sites , but on long term? what would be better?
