Mentor program for newbies i.e. (internship)

I think that this warrior forum is a great tool for advice and ideas to share. I'm a newbie here trying to get into IM and I have many resources here to learn from except that I'm lacking the actual vision. I'm more of a hands on type person through trial and error. Without some sort of hands on guidance or mentorship it's really difficult to put things into perspective. I don't think I speak for myself on this either. I am definitely one to say I often have been intimidated to even ask for advice here because at times it seems too overwhelming. I wish there was some sort of internship for the newbies that could give them hands on work with a chosen mentor. The internship doesn't have to be a payable job, but the experience is great to receive. Sorry in advance if I've offended anyone in this forum or discussion.

    NICE!!!.

I should have thought of this request.... Don't know who will take you up on it though..
My perspective is this.... it took years months of dedication to then teach someone this for free and just run off. You have to have a good production offer for free knowledge.
one of my favorite IMERS is Mike Cowles.. look him up... maybe he will take you on.
If anyone does I think you should be prepared to GIVE 100%.

    b well.

Thank you for the advice. I am leaning towards benefit for both parts. As in the mentor's free knowledge in exchange for the newbie helping out the mentor on any projects from SEO work to IM.

Don't know if you've found what you're looking for yet or not. An internship sounds like a good idea. Haven't heard of any big guys doing them, but never hurts to ask! Mike Cowles is someone I trust also. He has an affiliate program (Mike's Affiliates) and offers free weekly coaching sessions to his people. You might want to check that out.

If you're dead set on doing an actual internship, contact some marketers whose business appeals to you.

I think there's a lot of wannabes out there. So I think you'd need to prove yourself first. Pick someone you want to work for. Research them extensively. Then find a way to demonstrate value to them FIRST to show you've done your homework and are the real deal. Otherwise, it's too easy for successful busy people to ignore you. And they typically have lots of people approaching them for this kind of arrangement (if they are really successful). So I think you need to do something (creative or otherwise) to set yourself apart.

I personally think it's much more valuable to get coaching. You'll probably have to pay for that, but it'll get you where you want to go much faster. You could soak up all the knowledge in the world, but unless it's applied it's useless. A good coach helps you implement. Being an intern is more about soaking up the person's knowledge. Getting a coach is all about YOU getting results.

That's a good point. I'll sign up for the War Room as soon as I'm able. Just got over a chronic illness, starting a new job this month.

I just posted a case study of my newbie efforts with a blog, currently doing 200-300 visits per day, that I'm trying to monetize. If you've ever monetized anything, you know more than me, and I'd really appreciate your thoughts.

I think it's my first real shot at making an IM project go. I may not be an expert on success, but I've become a "veteran of many failures."

I don't expect any volunteers to jump up and start coaching me, but hey, I tried to post as much useful info as I could about what I've learned so far. (Admittedly not much!)

I think you would be better off on paying for coaching even though it is not free. If you get with someone who is really good they can help you get to where you want to be much quicker.

I'm new too! I just created a blog to record down my journey in Internet Marketing. And I'm learning from some teachers who are already expert. Spent thousands to attend seminars and workshops few months ago and I believe it is never too late to become what you want to be

    Hi there.

Vision is essential so it's good that you are even mentioning it early on in your IM career.

Only you know what your vision is, but importantly, be sure to make it a flexible vision as goals and targets are bound to change along the way.

Really, the most essential element I can tell you to become succesful online is to:

    1. Choose the niche that you are connected with. Something that incorporates your natural skills and abilities. If you do this then building your business will be enjoyable and much easier to get your head around.

    2. Forget about jumping from product to product - period. It is the biggest mistake of all time in IM. You won't need 5, 10, 20 different products over 1 year to make money. Think about your vision, target and how you're going to achieve it. With those basics in your mind you can set about building a sustainable online business.

There are loads of mentors to choose from but good one's tend to be pricey though that is not always the rule.

    Recommendations.
Chris Farrell - He does an excellent program that is inexpensive. Look him up. Also, this forum is packed with great info even though it's a little difficult to process all of it at once.

    Good luck

Yeah, i totally agree on getting a good coaching program.
If you happen to have $6 to invest every month, I recommend you to join Jeff Dedrick And Liz Tomey coaching program. You will get very clear instructions on what to do, as well as resources and other cool bonuses. The program focus very much on building a list for yourself. I personally find that all the technical stuff and concept taught inside the program is very comprehensive, as in you know exactly what you should do. Plus, the contents comes in per month basis, so you will not get information overload.

I found this is a very good coaching program.
The value of this coaching program is you got to see why and how the pro do their work. I think that is still very beneficial to me even though I already know quite some stuff in the program beforehand.

Here's the link to the program if you are interested. I'm in the program myself for 2 months already =)

    Some great advice above.....

Find your passion, interests and create a product that helps someone. My first website/product was not related to making money online. That product filled a need, solved a problem for people. That was 2 1/2 years ago, it's passive income monthly. Passive means I don't mess with the site, I don't touch it and yet it brings in monthly income. Win/Win! Create Value in whatever you do.

I actually tried the free mentorship for free services approach but got no takers. This isn't to say that it won't work for you. To be honest I really never put a lot of effort into it. Hopefully this works out for you.

If it doesn't, here's an alternative approach I used that got me way better results:

I recently joined a mentorship program and it's the best thing I've done for my IM career.

Sure, it was expensive but it was well worth the investment for a couple of reasons:

    1. A good mentor will make it much easier for you to focus on one project until completion. Quite often the problem we have as newbies is not that we don't have the right info, but we just have too much info to sort through so we get overwhelmed and do nothing.

    2. For me, I think just knowing that I made a sizeable investment in a mentorship program motivates me to make sure I get my money's worth by actually doing the work.

    3. The program I'm in has a private Skype group where members can interact and help each other. I'm finding this to be an absolute must.

Hopefully this will give some perspective.

    Good luck

Find a good mentor, join his/her list and take note of how they market to that list. Then emulate what they do.

Joining the War Room is an awesome start to your IM journey. It takes people years to find this forum and join the war room. Get in as soon as possible and head over and take a look at all the free content that is being offered.

Having a mentor does several things for you:

      1. Provides strategic direction and one on one coaching.
      2. That get's you up to speed MUCH more quickly.
      3. Therefore, you experience success much sooner than your counterparts.
      4. Helps avoid shiny object syndrome.
      5. A friendly ear to pour out your frustrations...solutions back...
      6. A bridge builder for the future.
      7. Provide you with the steps for success like Masterminding.

If you think that's worth paying for (and I do), then you must take action.

I'd welcome you to my inner circle with open arms...

      Llwyddiant! (success to you)

I think it's tough to find someone to do an internship for. THere's a lot of reasons for that, but you will find lots of coaching programs on here. They are paid mentors and I couldn't agree more that most people need one.

Keep reading through the forums and ask lots of questions, this will really help steer you in the right direction, do not under estimate how much information you have access to on this site particularly, and other forums.

Mentorship is definitely one of the best way to ensure faster success in IM. There are 2 ways to get mentorship, one is by paying for a mentor Another way, follow what the person (some one who is good in the area of what you want to do) in their blog, newsletter or their program/ membership. Do all the things that they asked you to do.

If you like to do SEO, why not create a website of your own and try to push it to the to of google. Doing so is giving yourself real hands-on, and to be successful in getting your site to the top of google search, you may involve learning a lot of tips from various sites too.

Good in you internet marketing journey!

    Hey!

I can't afford the $500-$2000 for personal one on one coaching, but what I have found helpful is listening all day to mentors like Jim Rohn, Darren Hardy, Dani Johnson, Brenden Burchard and I use that to help me get to where I want to be with helping me.

Once I do have enough passive income to cover a training. I will be going to one. I think mentoring is great, but if you cant' afford it. Get free podcasts, buy some books from some very successful people and sign up for their programs that aren't as expensive to get your foot in the door. I know I'm probably the minority, but that's what I did and am doing.
