I found this ad on one site: "The traffic is redirected to you from people clicking on the millions of expired domains out there - or miskeyed URLs - from Google and Yahoo."

My question is: how these people use expired domains for advertising, and how can I use that.

    That sounds like a trick that I heard from Bill Myers some time ago. Domains expire but still have links to them from other websites. If you buy the expired domain you will get the traffic from those links that still out there. If you're surfing and you click on a broken link check if it's an expired domain. It might be worth buying it.

    A lot of expired domains still carry inbound links too and sometimes from authority sites.

    Were you able to steer the category of the expired domains visitor? I mean, if you have a site in real estate a expired-domains-visitor from some gaming site probably wont be that useful.
