asking for affiliates?

Lately, I have been inundated with PM's and direct emails asking me to be an affiliate of their product. Anyone else? Is the market getting so filled up now that these well known marketers have to beg others to push their products? I have basically opted out of the WSO world as the activity was not worth the return, at least for me. I am sticking to my offline clients almost exclusively now as the profitability is just too good.

Anyways, just seems that a year or so ago, this activity would be laughed at, considered spam, disrespectful...now it is completely commonplace.

    Sort of. I've received a couple, maybe one a week, but nothing too imposing. I suppose it's a feasible way to get affiliates - it probably won't, but asking other internet marketers isn't a "strange" way to go about it. Unfortunately it's like a "cold call" and the success rate will be very low.

    I have never reported anyone as most of the requests are respectful enough, I just haven't really gotten ANY of these until the last few months. Maybe I SHOULD report so the activity is not encouraged...I just want to keep the quality level here as high as possible as I am a huge fan overall of WF.

    You're not alone Mac.

    I don't mind being asked to promote products when it's done the right way:

    Tell me why you think it will benefit my list, let me be the judge and check out the product for myself, not just the sales copy.

    Don't lead with how much commission I could earn. Even 100% commission is worthless unless I believe the product will genuinely help my subscribers. And if that's the case, I don't care about any commission percentage.

    In short, if you want to promote to my list - put their needs before mine or your own.

      I'm with you on this. My list is the goose that lays the golden eggs, I'm not going to kill it with cheap offers trying to get all the eggs out at once. I've only said yes to mailing my list for one person, and it was a product I had bought myself and really believed in.

      Reputation and trust is the currency of the digital age, nothing is worth risking it.

    I think networks are kicking a lot of bad affiliates out. Those guys are trolling for new people to scam with bad traffic.

    Honestly, there is no solution when an idea is becoming more saturation. It's like getting junk mail in a brick and mortar business. Part of the gig I guess.
