Today's giveaway of the day looks pretty nice and definitely useful to warriors:

First, someone already made a post about it:
    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...yoftheday.html

Second, this is only available for Non-Commercial Use.

Though the giveaway is now over... I thought I'd note that you are not quite correct on this.

It is for personal use... meaning you can create covers you will use but you may not create them for other people.

So yes, commercial use is allowed when the covers you create are for your own personal commercial activities such as creating covers for your own products...

Otherwise the software would be pointless since no one creates ecovers so that they can just sit there and look at them.

I posted a thread at GOTD forums and the admin (BuBBy) said:

Commercial use is any activity connected to the generation of income.
If making the covers isn't connected to the selling of a product (or the covers themselves) then it is probably ok.

I view "non-commercial use" as anything "non-business related" and not related to the generation of income either directly or indirectly. If you are going to be profiting from the use of the software, then it is only fair that the developers who wrote the software should be entitled to "a sale" also.
Note: This is my personal view/opinion on the matter.

The Software developers might have other ideas and might actually be more liberal with what they are happy for you to do (within the terms of the license).

If in doubt, you can always get in touch directly with the developers via their website/email. Pitch your story to them and see if they consider your planned use is commercial or private.

There was no statement on the offer saying "non commercial use only."

The only limitation stated for the offer was "personal use" which referred the the use of the software.

This is the point I was trying to make.

Without over saying it (like I did on the other thread).. If you look in the Readme file, you'll see the Non-Commercial clause.

I have personally contacted the authors at Insofta, but they haven't replied yet.
If they do reply I'll post it here.
