Does anyone see any benefit in submitting to directories such as these? breaklinks.com freedirlist.com directoryace.com everythingreduced.net ###################### Domain name: breaklinks.com Administrative Contact: iEntry, Inc. It seems that most directory submission services submit to these sites and there are hundreds like them. I would have thought they were of no use, and yet, people rave about some of the services that use them. Other's views would be appreciated. Ray |

Thakns for pointing out about iEntry - they are the people behind Submitter Bot. In any case, there are too many paid directories out there and I dont think they would count to Google - anybody with money can buy links. Ideally stupid Google should evaluate PR on the basis of what each page is worth based on the sole merit of the content it contains - not based on relying cave man technique of how many links it has from others as others can always link to the site for commercial interests.

Hi, These were just a random selection from the default list in the Traffic Mania DirectoryBot from Icansoft, they're not paid directories. Or have I misunderstood your post. I submitted and my site dropped about 15 places! OK, this may be coincidence and I know it's said that you can't be penalised for who links to you, but one starts to wonder. Thanks, Ray |

Building too many backlinks, too fast, especially on a new site could get your site dropped from the SERP's. Better to submit a few at a time, and do some high PR BL building in between. |

Hi Eric, I am doing as you say and although submitting to all of the directories within DirectoryBot I was only clicking on the emails to the tune of 15 - 20 links a day. When it dawned on me the emails were all pretty well identical, I started to check whois records. This site has been up since 2001 and up against sites with up to 8500 backlinks. Mine was #1 with 1400. Thanks, Ray |
